The Willow Clinic wasn't the one nearest the center of town in Aldrip--more towards the fields, and crucially, near a horse paddock as well. It was where Ethlyn had found employment as one of the clinic's standing healers and where she'd first proposed the idea of what she now liked to call the Arztenritter--"doctor-knight" in old Jugdrali--who could ride out all over town and beyond it in case of emergency medical needs.

After starting on the idea with people she already knew and putting up flyers around town for a general interest-and-training day, Ethlyn made her way to the clinic bright and early in the morning to get things set up for a day of medical and horsemanship training combined.

Horse Riding

Kisara is not actually here to learn how to ride horses, but she is here to provide some support. Shionne may act as though she doesn't need it, but evidently her blonde-haired companion thinks to the contrary. As a result, when Shionne speaks up, Kisara gives her an encouraging smile.

"If you were just going to do that, then why actually be here?" Kisara asks with a hand set atop her hip. "It's going to be fine. There's nothing wrong with learning something new, right? I'll be right here to make sure nothing happens that shouldn't be happening."

If she can stop a full-grown man with her shield, surely she can stop a horse. Maybe. Probably.

To be honest, Shionne does appreciate the backup that she gets from Kisara. Even though she tries to push the others away, they're all so damn insistent that they're going to be in her life, no matter what she thinks. And, it's tiring to keep pushing them away all the time when she doesn't really want to do it.

"I... I want to be useful, but I don't want to have my curse get in the way."

She's already hurt law and some wolf zeugels who were just trying to have fun. However, she's so worried that she isn't paying attention and when the horse backs into her, she lets out a shout that is quickly covered by the sound of the horse crying out in pain and rearing up on its back legs as it thrashes.

It’s a valid concern and one that appropriately puts Kisara on a moment’s pause. With a hand poised at her chin, she gives a short, understanding nod.

“They have saddles, right?” A breath more and she continues. “I don’t really know anything about riding much of… anything, but I imagine they’ll give you something to control them with and it might not require you to touch them directly? I can always help you up, as well.”

Better for Shionne to hurt a willing friend than an innocent horse who wouldn’t possibly know any better. But Kisara also knows that Shionne won’t be keen on putting anyone out, animal or not.
