The Shadow represents the worst parts of a person. Secrets buried so deep they may have forgotten they carry them. Their darkest thoughts and wishes, the impulses they keep behind closed doors to remain palatable to society.

Yu has never had to face a Shadow self before. That changes today.

[If there's any indication that this Shadow understands what it is, what Aigis is, it doesn't show in his large eyes, fixed on her with a distant sort of curiosity, in spite of her weapon. Whether he's truly unafraid, or just very good at hiding it, he offers a small, formal bow.]

Sorry. I didn't mean to surprise you.

[Yu Narukami has many different selves, it seems, and this is one that has been shut away for some time: a small child trying to be much bigger than he really is. An embodiment of self-sufficiency foisted on someone far too soon. He seems unbothered by the emptiness of the maze, or maybe just used to it. That said, there's still a slight tremor in his voice as he continues:] You...haven't seen an exit, have you?

[There's a shine of hope in the child's expression. He's okay, being alone. He's really, really fine. But he is nonetheless relieved that he's not, for the moment.]

[She lets out a sigh, dropping her arms to her side. If this Shadow is hostile, she will let it attack first and then react. For now... maybe it's best to treat him with the same sense of cautiousness she applies around Ryoji these days. Dangerous, but not exactly currently dangerous.]

No... I haven't. However, I should be the one apologizing. I- [How to explain it? Should she lie? Or?] I lost track of myself.

[Aigis bows in turn, offering a small smile to the boy.]

I am Aigis. Perhaps we can look together. Two heads are better than one, as they say.
