{The terseness of their speech doesn't keep Runyu away. He watches the bartering and follows the strange race back to their homes, familiarizing himself with their way of life. Are they like dragons? How would he know? Are they like fish, then? He understands that life much better. And yet, there are differences... peculiarities.

He makes his way back to the main group in a flash of blue light, holding a smooth stone in the palm of his hand. Occasionally he observes it - a stone worn away by water - and his thumb caresses it.}

{He rarely lets himself slumber, but fatigue gets the better of him despite his best efforts. He rests on his side, his cheek pillowed on his arm. Usually he dreams of starlight and what he can't have. Tonight is different. Strange visions plague him and he cries out in his sleep:}
