[ at least her agreeing has vash brightening up somewhat, a little smile breaking through the harassed, hunted expression from earlier - though he still keeps glancing at the crowd as he whispers frantically. ]
Okay, just understand I'm not gonna hurt you, and this won't hurt me either! Just, when you grab my hand and start pushing, you just gotta put your weight here, okay? [ vash indicates, by subtly tapping at the base of his mechanical wrist with his other hand while disguising the motion as a full-bodied shrug. ]
As long as you do that, I can take care of the rest! And then we just need to run out of here after, okay? Is that alright?
O...kay? I understand. I think. [Caitlyn squints, but she eventually nods. She has no idea what Vash is planning, but she agreed to help him, so... here goes it?
She does exactly as he asks, taking his hand as if she was going to arm wrestle him, then putting her weight into the wrist, just as he asked.
She has no idea what's about to happen, but she's going to trust that this plan of his is going to work.]
[ it is a vague instruction with nothing much to go upon, but surely caitlyn can't steel her heart and refuse this puppy-eyed pleading??? the good news is that none of the people around them seem to have caught onto vash's little scheme, and they cheer loudly as caitlyn takes the chair opposite vash and they commence their little arm-wrestling wager.
that is, until she puts her weight into the wrist just so, and with a pneumatic, deflating hiss of something going so horribly wrong, vash's arm basically falls out of its socket at the elbow, thudding onto the table dramatically. but not as dramatic as the owner himself. ]
Oh no!!!!!!! I'm so sorry about this! I have to go and fix it! Not sure how long it'll take I'msosorryGOODBYE!!!!
[ the last few words are hurriedly run off as vash grabs for the arm with his other hand, carefully nudging Caitlyn out of her seat and gesturing for her to hightail it out of there along with him!!!!!!!! to the nearest alleyway, we go! ]
[Vash's arm was really something. She could sense the metal of it before now, but this was probably the closest look she had ever gotten of it. The detail was amazing, reminding her of the mods they had in the Undercity. Even knowing something was coming, it was still almost startling when the pieces came apart in her hand.]
Oh---
[Hopefully her real surprise was good enough for them to believe, because his arm literally falling off was not what she was expecting. She's barely able to really process it either, as Vash nudged her out of her chair and led her off, running to the nearest alley. When they finally get enough distance from his posse to stop, she's nearly out of breath, but that doesn't stop a laugh from escaping her.]
You could've warned me you were going to make it fall off! I thought I actually broke it there for a moment.
