He's what? Really? But that makes even less sense than before.
[They're so surprised by the news that they even forget to protest the 'not funny' comment. Before, they thought it was a more simple case of time travel weirdness, and now it's... very much not. Morph is completely out of their depth with this whole thing.]
The Kurt I'm familiar with is around my age, give or take a couple years. He's a priest, and was on Genosha's ruling council. He hasn't been on the team long, so I don't know him all that well yet.
[They can't begin to imagine what Kurt would be like as a teenager. Probably nice, though. The adult version of him was a real stand-up guy from what Morph had seen.]
Is that everyone? There's no other kid X-Men running around I need to know about?
[Huh, well, guess that pretty much confirms that Kurt isn't from Morph's universe either. The idea of his friend being a priest is so bizarre too, not to mention him being on some sort of council? He's never heard of Genosha before and look, he may suck at geography, but he's pretty sure that country doesn't exist back home. Or maybe it's just a city??? Guess that would make sense for him not knowing about it at least.]
So, we're working with three possible different timelines. [Cool, got it. This is so much fun he's having a blast. But in seriousness, he still needs to determine if Morph is from his future or a different timeline too.]
Nah, just me and Kurt. [...Well, there was somebody here before and maybe Scott should mention him. Quentin was a giant pain in the ass, but he was still his friend. He... misses him in a dumb way. Ugh. He folds his hands behind his head as he rolls his eyes, even if Morph can't see that particular motion.]
There used to be a Quentin Quire around before he disappeared. The name familiar?
Greeeat. I get the feeling I'm going to have to write all of this down.
[It's a (mostly) good-natured gripe, despite how strange all of this is getting. Morph's life hadn't been normal since they joined the X-Men, but this place was above and beyond the usual amount of supervillain schemes, killer robots, and bird aliens that the team ran into on a regular basis. Even the time travelers were pretty good at laying out a single problem that needed to be solved.]
Huh. No, never heard of him. And with a name like that, I'm sure I'd remember it.
[It's slightly reassuring that they weren't the only odd one out. It makes enough sense that this Scott didn't know Morph, since they didn't start living at the mansion until the early 90s. But if these are timelines and not just time travel, maybe it shouldn't make sense? Yep, Morph is good and confused now.]
Thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.
