[There's an obvious tension that leaves Scott's shoulders when Yusuke confirms that he's still alive. He's not another dead teenager, he doesn't have to think about the fact that the person in front of him doesn't really have a future back home, that they're only alive right now, in the present. It sucks, a lot, and usually he just tries not to think about it so hard.
But it's moments like these that he's heavily reminded.
At least it won't be in the back of his mind when talking to Yusuke. Hey, in fact, he's the teen that cheated death. That's pretty cool. A small, if somewhat shaky breath leaves Scott before he nods, trying to play it cool once more by sending a semi-forced smile at him.]
And now you're going to be a pain in everyone's ass here. [He respects it.]
But seriously? I guess you don't have to worry about having a heart attack? [That's how that works, right???]
Without a doubt. I'll be such a nuisance Jerry will regret the day he ever entered the kidnapping business.
[Accountant or otherwise. He's the only name Yusuke's heard to date and therefore public enemy #1.]
...And who knows, probably. Demons don't exactly tend to die in hospitals, you know?
[In other words, whenever his number does finally come up, Yusuke expects it's likely to be quite a bit more violent than that. After all, if it hadn't been for the demon blood, Sensui would've killed him right there in that cave, back then. He still has the scar on his chest from that wound.]
Let me guess, they tend to die in gruesome, limb tearing battles.
[Don't actually answer that--
Scott doesn't have a hard time believing that Yusuke is a demon, but it's still pretty odd. He mostly just wonders what sort of powers he has as a demon, because duh, he obviously has to have something pretty cool. He's made big threats about kicking Jerry's ass for one.]
Well, since you've been open about being a demon and all, I'll let you know that I'm not entirely human either. [Scott nods, before pointing a thumb at himself.] I'm what's known as a mutant.
Yusuke squints a little when the other teen says he's a mutant, as though scrutinizing him for signs of it. See, his mental image of a "mutant" is something like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, not someone who looks like an average American tourist.
Then again, he knows he doesn't exactly scream demon, either, and he knows a good few of the same who weren't even born human.]
Huh. Not exactly what I would've pictured. Is that why you hide your eyes?
[Maybe they look really gnarly beneath those things. He's genuinely curious now, though at least he has just enough sense not to go yoinking them off his face.]
He notices that scrutinizing look, but he's not bothered. It was probably matching the expression he was making when Yusuke revealed that he was a demon; it was just hidden behind the safety of his glasses. Besides, it is kind of funny to see him squint, like he's trying to find the part of him that stands out.
Scott believes in him.]
Congratulations, you've figured out the obvious. [Being a shit towards the other teen is necessary yes.] I basically have to wear these sunglasses all the time.

[Probably help explain the shades and all.]

[Sorry Scott, he is just. Like this.
