[It's a curious thing this little nervous act that this man displays. It's certainly a convincing one, Bondrewd thinks, but it is also an art of manipulation. The desire to help the tiny robot is sincere, yet that behavior otherwise is interesting. It's curious... very curious. He wants to learn more.
He raises is hands, open and inviting.]
Of course. It's a pleasure, Vash.
I am Bondrewd the Novel, Sovereign of the Dawn. The circumstances might be strange, but they are intriguing nonetheless. Being surprised by it is quite delightful.
[ perhaps with further observation, bondrewd might realise that it both is and isn't an act - that whatever overlay of fumbling, soft ineptitude is less put on than it is now simply an automatic part of his body language; whatever his true nature is (or was, or had been), it has long since been relegated to secondary importance, as though he hardly mattered in the equation at all.
vash ducks his head and peers at the other from behind orange lenses. it is a quick gaze, full of curiosity as he looks at the darkly-mirrored visor, the flick of the tail, the general, impersonal stance - but vash says nothing about that, which will also tell bondrewd lots. instead, he will swing to face the other fully, taking a quick step and another until he is no more than a couple of paces away, extending his gloved right hand for a shake. ]
Bondrewd, huh? Lots of fancy titles there! Welcome!
[The body language continues to be peculiar, and Bondrewd finds himself unbearably curious about Vash. Not that people always make sense to him, granted, but it can be an interesting puzzle to solve in some capacity. That and the strange concern he held for the small robot earlier. From what he could observe, it didn't even belong to this man. What a strange attachment to objects people can have!
Bondrewd takes the hand, giving a firm but friendly shake.]
A please nonetheless, Vash. What can you tell me about this environment and our captors?
Now, who said anything about that? [ the awkward, shy mannerisms fade for an instant, giving way to a cheeky grin and a wink - in part helped along by the friendly mannerisms of the other. after all, titles are just titles - vash has a good many of them himself after all, ones acquired over the years. it isn't as if he would rightfully own up to any of them, though ... they aren't exactly ones to be proud of. ]
I could say it could be worse ... but really, it could be worse.
You haven't had a chance to read the letter, have you?
[ too busy trying to dissect an innocent creature! ]
I did, although I'm afraid it's rather lacking in satisfying details.
[Bondrewd has multiple limbs! He can multitask!]
Who are the people who have made this decision to bring us here? Where, precisely, is it that I have been taken? Why do I lack memory from the experience? As you can imagine, I have many questions.
Hahaha! You're right. They seem to like keeping us all in limbo. The only consistent thing about here is that every now and then, more people show up like you.
[ and disappear just as suddenly, with no trace of them having been there at all - if it wasn't for the fact that others remembered him too, vash would think that nai was just a bad memory. ]
We are here because of the crimes we've committed. You may not agree with whatever's written in yours - but that's an excuse enough for keeping us here. This town - city, should I say? - is called Aldrip.
I see. So however they have managed to bring us here, it has continued and there has been no success thus far in learning more about them? A shame, but I am certain that can be remedied in time.
[There are many new interests in his mind right now. Although it is disappointing to no longer be able to track the journey of Prushka and her new friends through Nanachi's eyes, at least there will be plenty to do in Aldrip.]
A curious thing, who they have decided is a Chosen. [look his morals are not standard so he's not gonna get into all that] And when they are satisfied in their attempts at rehabilitation, what then?
[ undoubtedly there were a few who did dissent, who were trying to find out a way to undo this perhaps too unreasonable reality. it isn't as though vash would choose to stay, if there was indeed a choice given to him - but it is mostly out of a sense of obligation, an unfairness that he is here, in this land full of prosperity, and the people he's left behind have ... well, nothing. ]
I just wonder how we are chosen ... and what we are supposed to do for our crimes.
