[He's taking it better than he expected - by the way anger was radiating off his being mere moments ago, Yuri expected him to throw a fit about it.]
Just got in here myself. I was in the middle of something important, I blinked - and now I'm here. Stuck in some kind of prison, apparently.
[Yuri keeps his tone light, but he's not fond of these circumstances himself. This isn't his first time in a prison, but the way the authorities have been conducting this leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
[As he speaks something moves in the corner of his eye. Sephiroth reacts on reflex.
He manifests a long blade from the shadows, grips it in his gloved hands, and thrusts it downward. Only when he hears a mechanical fracturing sound and an almost mournful series of beeps does he look down and see that the alien creature that had been sneaking up on him is a small robot.
He stares at it silently, watching metal bits fold away from the tip of the Masamune.]
One: This guy is a talented fighter. Not only did he manage to spot something that small, the way he moved was crazy fast, too. He's definitely performing miles better than a common footsoldier.
Two: He use manifested that blade out of nowhere, he's talking to a guy with a wing. That's not that surprising, if you think about it.
Three: Holy crap that's a huge ass sword.
Yuri can't help but whistle at the whole performance, really.]
That, my strange man... [He pauses for dramatic effect.] Was supposed to be your welcoming party.
[That's his cue to whip out the strange device those robots gave to him earlier - some kind of rectangular piece of metal and glass?]
They're supposed to give you one of these things. I think you're supposed to communicate with these things? Words show up on it, at the very least.
Oh, and apparently they tell you what kind of crime you've committed to end up in here. You know, standard greeting stuff.
[The way Yuri says it implies that he does not think it's "standard greeting stuff."]
[He doesn't know enough to trust this guy just yet, but he clearly knows more than him. Truth be told, Yuri's more concerned if birdman could actually stand.
He hands over the rectangular device without issues.]
Like you said, they are devices intended for communication.
[Sephiroth gingerly takes the phone and swipes through it. The interface is at once familiar and foreign and, not for the first time, he feels like he's dreaming.]
[Forgive him for staring a bit more, Sephiroth. Yuri's still not sure what to make of you just yet. And maybe it'd be a good thing to keep an eye on his belongings.]
It is pretty convenient. We could use some of these in my own world.
[He fiddles with the leather wrapped around his own sword's handle. This is probably the first time he's been jailed without being stripped off his weapon. Either they're confident none of them could get out of here with their full capabilities, or it's something much more sinister...]
In terms of prisons, this is definitely the nicest one I've been in. Usually they just lock you up and give you free food. But in here, it's like they want you to continue living a regular life. It almost makes you forget that you're locked up, honestly.
[The last theory is what gives him the most concern.]

...What is this?

[Sephiroth states plainly and walks forward, his legs still trembling beneath his weight.]
Let me see it.
[He extends his gloved palm, expecting the stranger to willingly hand the device over.]

So uh, what's a phone?

Hm.
I wonder...
Why give us phones if we are here to be punished?
