What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.

[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

He's waving goodbye to blushing admirer #10 when he sees Scott approach. That small smile is matched with an even bigger and brighter one! That wasn't exactly the kind of greeting he was expecting, though.]

Flirting? [There's a confused look for a second before he makes the connection. That's what the other guys at school thought what he was doing, too!] I'm just asking if we could go out sometime, so I can get to know them better! I have seen people I know here and there, but it wouldn't hurt to get along with the others, too. Maybe some of them don't recognize anyone else, you know? That would be lonely.

If they're having fun and shit, that's really all that matters. Feeling normal. That's the whole point, in a club full of freaks. Guess Ryoji gets it, if he's saying that he doesn't want anyone to be lonely.

[Maybe it’ll get him in trouble. Not that his classmates at Gekkoukan were ever jealous of how he seems to shower literally everyone with affection. But some folks might think differently. Who knows? He’ll just have to deal with it as it comes.

Scott, fortunately, doesn’t get the remark he was expecting. But what comes out of Ryoji’s mouth is also pretty ridiculous without context:]

[It sounds so obvious at first glance — of course humans are from Earth! But considering how they’re in a different world now, he wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some individuals that happen to be aliens. Or maybe even the same planet, under a different name. All the more reason he wants to get to know the others better.

He could flirt with Shinji, technically. It'll be really funny if he tried. But Ryoji, thank god, is reasonable with rejections, and he’d turn his way at the first no.]

I’m truly grateful that you invited me. Everyone is just so fascinating, you know? And they came from so many different places, I’m having a hard time keeping track of them.

[Just a mutant from a parallel universe of Earth. Guess that's kind of cool when he thinks about it in that way, especially since one of the aliens that he met here was completely lame. Ugh. Thinking about him almost puts him in a bad mood, but it's cool.]

Heh, well, thought you'd fit right in. [He nudges Ryoji lightly with his elbow. A part of him is still a little sad that he doesn't remember his last stay, but at least he's slowly adjusting and stuff. Making friends again. There's also that worry of the other teen not knowing who he really is and he told Kotone that she should tell him, but... that's ultimately up to her and Minato. Probably.

He doesn't think he should step in?? Like, not his role here.]

That’s okay! It goes both ways — we’re aliens to someone else, too.

[Like the locals around here, for example. Some of them stare at him differently for being “Chosen” and whatnot, but there are others who have been welcoming too. There may or may not be a couple who already agreed to ask him out on a date.

But being in here, mingling with other folk who also came from Earth or somewhere else, has a different vibe to it. Ryoji prefers the atmosphere here, where others treat him just like any other person. Even that playful shove from Scott makes his chest flutter a little.

It’s just like he’s back at school again. His eyes crinkle at the memories.]

[Don’t get him wrong, he thinks it's pretty cool. But it’s not like he can do anything special. He’s just...Ryoji.]

Instead, Scott just rolls his eyes, nudging Ryoji once more, his voice still continuing in that teasing tone despite how weird all of this is. Well, luckily, he's used to the weird by now, kind of embraces it actually. He never really fit in his old school and he felt a lot better hanging out with the mutants at Xavier's, so this is his wheelhouse now. Or whatever.

Honestly, it is kind of easy to poke at Ryoji like this anyway. So, nothing about Scott seems forced as he settles his hands on his hips.]

[Sorry Scott, one word is just easier to say than two. Not that Ryoji has the teasing advantage in here — he’s usually good with receiving attention, but this has a personal touch that is much unlike the casual mingling he’s used to. It’s like someone else is reaching out to him, rather than the other way around.

He’s an only child, but he thinks that this might be what having an older brother is like.

Everyone keeps saying that, but I’m not sure why it counts as flirting. Is dating really so different from hanging out?

He'll fight that battle another day, because there's already something that he needs to help with. Is it as important as his powers? No, but Scott is feeling generous today. Or just want to make sure that Ryoji doesn't either get punched by someone or break someone's heart by telling them that this date is actually just 'hanging out.'

Yeah, dude, obviously. [He shakes his head, hands still on his hips as he starts Summers Tip #1.] Dating is really different from hanging out. I don't say I'm dating Yu or Akira, I'm just hanging out with them. Dating implies like. Being in relationship or wanting to be in one.

I get that, but aren’t the things you do on dates the same things you do when you hang out? Back when I took some girls out, we just went to cafes or parks and talked. Sometimes we watched movies, but I’d rather hear their lovely voices.

But look, there's still that different connotation and it means a lot to people. Plus, you may want to kiss your date at the very end. You don't kiss people when you just hang out. [That may result in punching as well. He really imagines Ryoji getting punched a lot, doesn't he?]
