TWAT club meeting mingle
Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.
[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]
before the meeting;
[Why did you come early, god.
Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.
Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]
just hanging out;
[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'
Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.
There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]
after club;
[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.
Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]
[ooc: TWAT mingle log! Please feel free to post your own top levels and tag each other. :> If your character would bring food or set something up, go right ahead. The more the better, right? Also your character doesn't need to be part of TWAT to join, Scott will just sort of let any teenager in. 'Teenager' being anyone that doesn't look too much like an oldie--]

[no it does not come out of her ass!! people always want to ask that for some reason.]
Yes and no? I'm the only one in my dimension, but others are out there. There's another one here, too. He's a Spider-Man, rather than Spider-Woman.
no subject
[A small smile. After all, they're heading up to a meeting full of super-powered teens. It's not that much weirder than "I stuck my head in a TV after I shook hands with a goddess at a gas station."
Yu's eyebrows lift at her latter assertion.] Does that mean you did some dimension-hopping before you ended up here? [That experience...seems like it'd come in handy, around here.]
no subject
[It's been wild, to hear about just how many people have powers, especially in the teenage population. She's kind of excited to meet them, tonight. And that means Yu here is probably one of them. He was the Jungian guy that replied on that stupid dating app, wasn't he? Not that he would know it was her, with her masked up tonight. Either way, now it got her wondering what he was capable of.]
Something like that. A supervillain created a machine to connect dimensions, and accidentally pulled several Spider-people there instead, myself included.
[They finally exit into the open space on the roof, and Gwen sets the table down at last. She'll figure out where they want it in a minute.]
no subject
[It just makes sense... but it also gets Yu thinking in ways he wasn't before.]
"Connecting dimensions" ... that sounds a little like how I would describe this place, actually. Not that I've seen any supervillains, dimensional machines, gods, or godlike entities around to take credit for it.
[Can't rule anything out, at this point.]
no subject
I thought about that, too, actually. But nothing about this has been the same. For one, I was pulled through a portal that shot me through space and time. I saw the strings that tied the dimensions together. [like a web! ironic, yes?]
I was fully aware, from the moment I got sucked in. Nothing like that happened when I came here. I couldn't even begin to tell you the moment I was pulled here. One second I was home, and then I was waking up here. Also, we glitched, when we were in the wrong dimension. Cellular instability, caused by being out of place in reality. It did.. not feel good. And I haven't once felt that, since I've been here.
[which makes her buy more into the whole "computer simulation" theory. if this was a pocket dimension, their cellular structure shouldn't be stable.]

It'd be convenient if it was the same kind of machine you experienced, but honestly, I'd be pretty surprised if it was. With so many people from other worlds...things seem to work differently from one to the next. Magic, abilities, technology -- none of it is the same.
[The idea of the machine, or some other dimension-crossing trigger, but utilizing an entirely different set of rules... and they have no idea what those rules may be. Great.]
But it does make me wonder if we should be looking for something with a tangible trigger. A machine, a person... [His expression flattens, not quite becoming a frown. But of course he thinks of Izanami and the Moel station.] Or something that looks like a person.
no subject
she does however agree that there's a high possibility of some king of technology involved, but it's definitely something beyond her scope of understanding.]
I've thought about that too. I've swung through every inch of this town, and haven't seen anything suspicious. If there's a machine, it's either hidden so well, I missed it, deep underground, or somewhere outside of the city. [it's kind of hard to swing outside of the city edges, so she hasn't explored much further out than the farms.]
What about that Jerry guy I keep hearing about? Think he's got anything to do with it?
no subject
[Personas, summoners...even Scott has another person like him here, now. Maybe the theory's not totally off-base after all.
Yu tables the idea for now. He's not as sold on Spider-Woman's confidence that she's seen every inch of the town -- there's always the chance that something has been overlooked, and since they don't even know what they would be looking for...it's hard to say for sure whether they've come across it. Maybe they already have, and none of them knew it.]
Good question. When I dealt with him, he didn't really seem to have a lot of answers. He just took people to City Hall and that was it. If there's more to him than that, he's a pretty good actor.
no subject
Just because he didn't say it, doesn't mean he doesn't know. Not all villains monologue their plans. [But who is she to say for sure? She hasn't met him. Maybe one day she will, and she'll try to get some answers out of him.]
no subject
[Akechi following Naoto's work, Kotone and Minato being from the school they had visited on a school trip... Little connections like that. Yu isn't sure what they mean -- if they mean anything to begin with. But they're hard not to notice...and impossible to ignore.]
He's got more of a henchman vibe, to be honest, [he says, regarding Jerry.] Or maybe just a salaryman. Not everything falls so neatly into heroes and villains, after all.
no subject
[Statistically, it doesn't make sense. Doesn't add up. And numbers don't lie. Out of all the universes, dimensions, multiverses, etc, this many people with links shouldn't be picked out all at once. Something weird was at work, here.]
No, you're right. It's not always black and white. [Considering she's called a menace to society and a murderer quite frequently, back home. Even if she's trying to do good, not everyone agrees. And not everyone that does bad things is inherently bad. Sometimes they're just doing their job, even if it is a poor choice of a job.]
no subject
[The timeline isn't the only strange part about it -- the slight differences in their powers, the little coincidences that have tied them all together...it's mystifying, honestly, and as much as Yu would like to tease out meaning in the connections, he's not sure how much there is to find.
As for her latter comment, all he can do is nod, offering a look of agreement. He'd found the same to be true in Inaba. For now, he starts grabbing a few things that are waiting to be set up -- chairs to go by tables, ice going in coolers, things like that.]
Are you planning to keep the mask for the party?
[There's no judgment in his tone -- just curiosity.]
no subject
But then she's back down near Yu again, helping with the chairs.]
Um. Probably? It's kind of a habit, but...there's also someone here from my world. He knows Spider-Woman, so I'm just. Trying to play it safe. For now. I don't exactly want my secret getting out, back home. [She just doesn't know that Matt already knows. Or that Peter had blabbed to just about everyone about his own powers, and it's way too easy to connect the dots back to her. Whoops.]
no subject
It's actually pretty cool.]
I get that. Better safe than sorry. It was like that for me, back home. And...a bit when I first got here, too.
[His expression is sympathetic. He hasn't forgotten those first few months -- him and Yosuke both pretending there was really nothing to either of them.]
no subject
[Maybe she'll change her mind, once she settles in more here. She's just still on edge, especially given her Matt Murdock is hanging around.
Maybe it wouldn't matter, even if he found out here. Would they even remember any of this, when they did get home? Was it all just a simulation, so not even real? There were a lot of questions, but no real answers on that.]
