TWAT club meeting mingle

Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

It mostly has to do with elemental manipulation. Fire, wind, lightning. Things like that. Although there is direct chakra manipulation as well, which can be applied to things like walking on water or up vertical surfaces. Or moving so fast it looks like you disappeared in one place and reappeared in another.

[that's putting it simply, but it's not like kurt needs a dissertation on the subject.]

Wow, that's a wide set of skills you've got there! [And he can see how he'd be wary about showing off skills involving shooting fire and lightning at a gathering like this...]

It sounds real cool, dude! I hope I can see some of that in action sometime! You know, I can stick to walls and ceilings too, but that's it.

[he adds the dude on a little uncertainly, like it's a term he's never used before and is trying to fit in. which is all true.]

Thanks man. I don't throw fire around or anything, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve! [Like his prehensile tail that he is currently invisible for Reasons.] So, how are you enjoying the club? Are you a newbie like me?

This is my first meeting. A few people said I should come, so...I'm here.

[he seems a little awkward about it. he's not the most social person under any circumstances, but it did seem wise to network a bit in this new and unusual world.]

Nice! It's my first too. I just got here recently, but my friend's the one running this shindig. It's nice getting to talk to others who have stuff like this going on! Helps to build that sense of togetherness, you know?

[And to feel less alone.]

Yeah! Or like, a different version of home technically. Me and Scott, we each know a version of each other!

So that's possible...you said a version of each other. So your worlds are that similar, but still different?

It seems like it. I don't know all the differences but we've noticed a few so far. Like our time periods! Where I'm from, we're teens in the 2000's. But in his world, we're teens in the 1970's! Pretty wild, yeah?

[the actual years don't mean much to kakashi, but he can grok that's a good thirty year difference. that's...a lot, actually.]

That's a whole lifetime's difference.

[he tries to imagine meeting one of his friends, but them being from thirty years in the past. it's almost too different to manage.]

How can you still seem like the same people to each other?

Exactly! He should be like super old! ...But he knows me, so I should be super old too!

[He shrugs.]

It's like some kind of weird timeline thing. Like we were both in different time periods in each world.

That's crazy.

[no matter how hard he tries, he just can't parse it.]

But if you're close enough to what each other expected to still be friends, that's good, I guess.

I know, right?

[Kurt can barely wrap his head around it himself, but his familiarity with sci-fi and comics does help.]

But yeah, it is pretty awesome. No matter where or when, we got the raddest friendship going on! I almost forget he's a different Scott sometimes.
