TWAT club meeting mingle
Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.
[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]
before the meeting;
[Why did you come early, god.
Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.
Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]
just hanging out;
[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'
Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.
There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]
after club;
[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.
Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]
[ooc: TWAT mingle log! Please feel free to post your own top levels and tag each other. :> If your character would bring food or set something up, go right ahead. The more the better, right? Also your character doesn't need to be part of TWAT to join, Scott will just sort of let any teenager in. 'Teenager' being anyone that doesn't look too much like an oldie--]

Scott has invited some real freaks, Ange thinks. Like the entire point isn't just to gather the local freaks, which is exactly why Scott invited her too in the first place..
But even though Ange may be a freak, at least she isn't devouring all the food on the table in record time. It's like the other is sitting there as some sort of participant in a food speed eating competition. Ange may look nonplussed on the outside, but she's pretty surprised at the sight on the inside..
"That's not all going to fit in your stomach, you know," she lightly points out after watching a little bit of this.

Elizabeth looks up and ponders, "One will never know unless one tries. Still, I am more trying to understand the experience of it than trying to sate any hunger."
She looks over and motions to a chair, "Some of this is quite good if you wish to try it."
no subject
But even though Ange answers with that relatively easily, she is bothering to sit down on the chair the other gestured at all the same. She isn't really picking at the food yet, but-- who knows, that might happen too. For now it does really seem like she's telling the truth about not being all that hungry though, since Ange doesn't look like she's even looking at it.
Instead she's glancing over at Elizabeth, trying to place this new person.
".. also, did you just imply you're trying to understand the experience of.. eating?" Because that's a very strange implication, Elizabeth!
no subject
Elizabeth isn't going to force this girl to eat, frankly, she knows people eat, she knows some eat enough that it became a sin and spawned demons but that is about it.
"I know that it is linked to joy in some, despair in others, and general survival. I was hoping to gain some insite from it into.... Well... It isn't that important."
Going on about ancient titans that were awoken by crazy humans isn't something she really believes is a first conversation thing. That's probably fourth or fifth, you know, after you've had a propper fight to bond over.
no subject
Ange is kind of imagining what it's like to eat fifteen or sixteen meals in a row.. It must have been even more difficult to watch for whoever Elizabeth's guest was. Considering he took her to the human world, Ange imagines that person at least must have been human.
Though it does leave a very obvious question right there on the table, huh. And with Ange being Ange, and nosy on top of it, there's no way she's just going to ignore it. Instead she bluntly asks:
"So what are you then?"
Clearly not human, but that means there's still a whole lot of possible answers, if past experience is anything to go by. And so far nothing Elizabeth has said has given her a real clue to narrow down the possibilities.
Sorry about the delay, getting used to the new job's hours.
She nods then looks at the other girl, there is no good way of explaining things, and a bad way would probably require far more forethought than Elizabeth could muster, so she simply blurts out the truth.
"I am an elevator attendant who has been woefully neglectful at her duties since she left the Velvet Room!"
oh gosh, please don't worry about it! i never mind slow tags! <3
.. you know. Like it's normal!
Which it is of course not, hence why she sounds so dry about it. It's not like she's faking the lack of surprise though - Elizabeth's story sounds exactly like the sort of thing Ange would run into back home. Ridiculous stuff is more or less par for the course now.
"Does that mean the elevator attendant is some sort of cover? Trying to seem like a normal person, or what?"
no subject
"Well, our guest was a normal person so, and as the Velvet Room is based on his challenge, it formed as the Elevator of Destiny. So, we take the form of humans to more easily facilitate our guest's comfort."
no subject
But in a way that's kind of interesting to Ange. Maybe it's the part of her that can't help but love digging into mysteries at this point. If you do that sort of thing for long enough, you kind of start craving it.
"So you're a supernatural entity."
Of sorts. Ange isn't exactly sure of the sort yet, since it all still sounds kind of weird and vague.
"A supernatural entity that's putting people through challenges. Or.. helping them with challenges?" Elizabeth doesn't seem evil just yet. Not like the witches back home. But Ange also knows that looks and first impressions can definitely be deceiving when it comes to that, and she doesn't want to fall for it all over again. It'd just make her feel stupid.
no subject
She shrugs, Elizabeth isn't trying to be weird and vague, just she hasn't really gotten out much, and most of the time she WAS out she was alone, and explaining things to yourself is a kind of silly that she rarely is.
"My master's master represented humanity in several games against.... One of the great old ones. My master was his way to keep the competition fair. We attendants just handle the direct interactions with our guests."
She pauses, "I may be breaking some rules in trying to keep the titan my guest sealed... Sealed."
no subject
Though Elizabeth is offering up more information after that, so Ange doesn't say anything too dry or judgemental. She's still being fed information all the same here, after all, and it's actually interesting information.
One can tell that by Ange's expression. A mix of curiosity and surprise sneaks into her poker face, lessening the latter.
"A game?"
God, how many times has she heard that term by now. Not only in her world, but from other people's mouths too..
"Seriously? Just how many people showed up here after having been in situations like that before back home? You're the umpteenth person I've heard something like this from." Which is interesting, yes! But it's also confusing. Why is this the common point between so many of the people present in this place, her included?
no subject
Still she ponders this, that these games are popular. She was aware of a few of them that her master was involved in, and several between chaos and order, but honestly, those were in other realities so she was glad to only have a passing understanding of them.
"I will assume that most people here are players in those games though... Not... Indirect support. There seem to be far fewer of us than actual players from what I understand."
no subject
"It depends," she finally says after a moment of thought, opting to address Elizabeth's last remark rather than the name. Even though Ange is still thinking about it, idly twisting the ring on her finger a little as she does. "What would your definition be of a player in a game like that, as opposed to someone who is just support?"
no subject
She shrugs a bit, "Think of your game. The ones who perhaps were summoned, or who came offering power, but at the end of the day did not suffer anything no matter how the game ended. Perhaps they were able to supply the perfect ability, or perhaps they made a mistake that made a task easier or harder for the players. However, in the end, none of it really did anything to them either way. Ultimately, they are the support."
no subject
Sure, the stuff Elizabeth is saying is objectively strange, but it makes just enough sense in the perspective of Ange's own world that she can't help but take it seriously. Or to put some actual thought into it.
"I think things can end pretty badly even for the people who are just support. They can die along the way."
no subject
She ponders a bit, "Also, I suspect my brother and especially my sister would heavily resist and she is far more powerful than I am."
no subject
"Okay, but not everyone who's supporting is at you guys' power level." .. whatever that power level might be. It's still kind of difficult for her to determine just how powerful Elizabeth is when she's just sitting here with the other like this. Elizabeth could have any powers, as far as Ange is concerned. Just her not exactly being human isn't saying all that much by itself.
"Some people who are out there providing support aren't really that powerful at all." Like Ange. It's why she said that just now in the first place - she was thinking about herself, rather than about Elizabeth or any of her siblings. "Or sometimes some of the players involved are too powerful. That's how someone who's only providing support can still die."
She shrugs a little though. Casually. Like she isn't talking about her own death here.
no subject
"The bonds of the player? Well, they aren't exactly support and generally... Or are we talking about your game now? Did the party you were representing not know how to set up a contract to win?"
Elizabeth wrinkles her nose a little, "Do you need aid in your game? I have... In the past... Thrown a.... What is it called? Simian driver? No.... Ape drill? No... Ah yes! Monkeywrench! In games with what seem to be no negotiation at all as of late. That is how I earned the title of Manliest of Men."
no subject
In fact, the girl figures that maybe it's that latter point she should address first, before anything else. It's important, after all.
"Why are you even offering to help in the first place? It's not like we come from the same game."
And clearly people going out of their way just because they're nice is a totally foreign concept to Ange.
