TWAT club meeting mingle

Who: Scott Summers and members of TWAT (Teenagers With Abilities and Talents) Club. Or any teenager that just stops by really.
Where: Roof of the club building
What: Teenagers with abilities or maybe no real abilities hanging out on the rooftop and eating food. Talking. Doing club stuff.
Warnings: Probably none.


[Maybe you're already part of TWAT club and read the message that Scott sent out to everyone, basically stating that they're having a meeting this Saturday to just hang out and meet new members. Or you saw one of the flyers around town that mentioned about having a meeting. Either way, the meeting is held at the rooftop of the club building, so just come. No food or anything required. He's a good leader like that, yeah. Definitely.]

[Why did you come early, god.

Well, anyone that is one of those people that like to come early to events, Scott's putting you to work. Maybe it's just helping getting the food out on the tables, or bringing up chairs or tables up to the rooftop. Either way, work needs to be done and setup is still in progress, so pair up with other TWAT members or whatever to get things ready. Thanks, Scott appreciates it. Probably.

Also, if you have your own food or brought a game of some sort, that's cool. He definitely isn't going to say no. Go set that up.]

[Once the meeting starts and Scott gives some basic speech and welcoming new people to TWAT Club (in which he wasn't nervous at all shut up), people are more than welcome to just eat the pretty decent spread laid out in the tables. Stuff like chips, pizza, rice balls, ramen, probably some mixture of American and Japanese food because he's him and his girlfriend is Kotone, so yeah. There's also a little sign or note in front of the tables that states 'provided by cooking club, so join us. ✨'

Since this is a place filled with teenagers and abilities... Scott probably has encouraged people to show off their powers a little. JUST DON'T BLOW SOMETHING UP it's okay, he's talking about himself too. Of course, he's not forcing anyone to show off their powers and everything, but he sort of hopes people are feeling more comfortable to do so. That is the purpose of his club and everything.

There's also a random cornhole game set up. Don't ask.]

[Feel like being a nice person and help clean up? Nice. Scott isn't forcing anyone to stay after to do so, but he appreciates the help. It's mostly just taking tables down and clearing out the trash. Anyone that stays can probably take home some of the leftovers. So, that's a nice bonus.

Maybe you just want to sit on the ground and enjoy the evening a little. He's not judging.]

[Aigis had come to the club building for the first time to meet with Peter, but there was something familiar about it that drew her back. She wasn't in any clubs back at Gekkoukan, and since she planned not to attend school the next semester, she never would be.

Is that why she wanted to explore it? She can't explain it herself... The same way she can't explain why she ends up on the rooftop one evening. It's nostalgic, maybe?

But when she comes up the stairs, she realizes someone else is already there. And there's tables and food and other things too.]

Ah- I'm sorry to interrupt.

[Even if whatever this was is clearly over.]

[As Scott turns around to face the other teen, words ready to unfortunately tell her that she missed the meeting and better luck next time, he instantly quiets when he realizes just who is standing in front of him. No, he never really put two and two together that the 'Aigis' he talked to a while back was the same one from Kotone's world. Or maybe Minato's world. But... now he does, for sure. Because it's her.

He recognizes the android from Kotone's memory, the one that was with her until the very end.

He visibly swallows, not wanting to think about that. Even if he and Kotone both know that all this is temporary, that they're going to enjoy each day as much as they can, it still hurts to really think about her passing for long. Besides, he just can't get emotional in front of Aigis, especially since she doesn't know him. He's just... a mutant from an entirely different world.]

You're... Aigis.

[Oops, he meant to just say hello or something simple, but. Guess he can't stop everything.]

[She blinks, not expecting that response. Unlike seeing Kotone, however, she doesn't have that feeling of having forgotten something, knowing each other intrinsically. This is just a person who knows her, but who she doesn't know. Much simpler!]

Yes. I am.

[Before she might not have thought of this interaction as awkward, but she can definitely tell now that it is.]

... I am sorry, but I don't think we've met.

[Yep, definitely awkward. There's probably no recovery on that end and there's no point backtracking, so best to just barrel forward, even if he doesn't know where that may lead.]

We talked briefly over the phones. I tried to make you get a cat.

[But that's not a real explanation, because it's not like he got a visual of her until now. And despite how awkward and somewhat exasperating that conversation was, it's probably nothing compared to how things are right now-- mostly because of Scott's doing. He's the one that blurted out knowing her even if it wouldn't make much sense without further context. Maybe he'll start small.

No need to delve straight into the conversation how he saw her in Kotone's memories months ago. How he saw her comforting Kotone on that rooftop until she quietly faded away.

He lightly bites his lip, reminding himself once again that he doesn't want to be too emotional in front of someone that doesn't know him at all. What kind of first impression is that? He's fine.]

But this is the first time we've met. [...] Kotone mentioned you.

[He offers a small smile, once he finally can. His emotions no longer overwhelmed with thoughts of her passing.] It's cool finally meeting a robot.

[Really, he is excited meeting an android and everything, it's just a little subdued compared to normal.]

Oh.

[To which part? Probably all of it.

The cat part, he should understand by now why she can't have one, seeing as she's a robot.

Or had Kotone not told him that part? Is he realizing it now?]

Is it that obvious? That I'm not human, I mean.

[Aigis never gave it much thought before, the others were always more worried than her. But everyone's reactions to her here have been strange, different than that of her classmate's.]

You still haven't told me your name.

You're not really obvious.

[He shakes his head. Aigis is definitely more human compared to some other robots he's seen, like R2D2 or C3PO. Or... the Sentinels, but Scott refuses to think about those decommissioned robots back home. They're not important, right? Besides, it really is cool to meet a robot-- an android that is basically as human as anyone else. Like she's definitely emoting at him and everything and he saw her expression when Kotone...

.....]

I probably wouldn't have noticed if Kotone didn't tell me in the first place. [Scott offers with a somewhat forced smile, something almost sad about him before he tries to shove it aside. He's fine. He's the leader of TWAT Club and here to talk to new recruits! Even if the club is over right now, whatever.]

And I'm Scott, Scott Summers. I'm... Kotone's boyfriend. [Since he keeps mentioning her, might as well bring that up.]

... Ah.

[Well. She doesn't gulp necessarily, her body has no need to, but she feels herself freeze up nonetheless. Kotone's... boyfriend.]

It's nice to meet you, Summers-san.

[There's no reason for her to be jealous, Kotone's barely more than a stranger, and yet-
She can't explain it logically, but part of her feels upset that this person got to know her first. That they've known each other long enough to grow close in this manner...

It's the kind of feeling she had early on with Minato, wanting to be close to him at all times. She isn't mad at Scott necessarily, only feeling a strange sense of guilt that she couldn't be there in his place.]

I am... glad, that she has found someone here. [...] My boyfriend is here too.

[...Did he say something wrong? Maybe he's imagining it, but she almost seems kind of upset hearing that? It's kind of the first time someone's had that reaction towards him, but maybe it's an android thing? Oh wait, he gets it, she's probably protective over Kotone, even though she's mentioned to him that Aigis is from Minato's timeline. It just happens still, because friends are still friends, no matter what.

Besides, Scott's fully distracted when she mentions that her boyfriend is here.

Okay, cogs turning... and it doesn't take long for the mutant's mouth to drop slightly in surprise. Because really, there's only one teen he can think of that would be Aigis' boyfriend.]

No way, you're Minato's girlfriend? He never mentioned-- [Scott closes his mouth before the rest of those words are uttered. Uh, probably not cool to say that, huh?] He must be happy to have you here, Aigis.

[.....Actually, more than that. That small helpless smile returns.] You must be happy to see him again.

[Alive, breathing, making new memories. Just having the opportunity to spend time with him again.]

[He never mentioned her? It does sting a little, but Minato isn't the kind of person to talk your ear off, even when it comes to those close to him. She wonders too, if waking up here had been difficult for him. Coming to terms with your own mortality is one thing, suddenly being alive and without your friends is another. He had lost her in that way, though she hasn't thought of it like that until now. Was she really so inconsiderate...?

Remembering the time and place, she looks to Scott and attempts a smile in return.]

I am. It still... it still feels like a dream. Meeting Kotone-san like this too. I must have frightened her when we met, I-I couldn't stop crying.

[It's been hard dealing with the fact that Kotone is gone back in her world, acting as some sort of seal but still essentially dead. She's told him months ago about her fate and even now, the thought is still so painful, but he doesn't know what else to do but spend as much time as possible with her (and maybe go to her world if he can). Live each day to the fullest, as they've said. Some days are easier than others, but... he doesn't regret any moment still, because he loves her.

He wonders if it's even harder for Aigis, because she most likely saw Minato pass away back home. Their time now may feel like a dream or a second chance but it's still limited, just like his and Kotone's.

Scott's unable to hide his own pained smile, nodding minutely to her words.]

...I think Kotone was happy that you still cared about her. [Since Aigis wouldn't have any memories of Kotone. He gets how painful that may be.] She's just happy that you're here.
