{ Player Event } What's true of all the evils in the world is true of the plague as well

Where: All over Aldrip.
What: This is the log for what we’ve been affectionately dubbing The Organ Player Plot. Various places around Aldrip are facing dangerous supernatural occurrences. It’s a scavenger hunt in some way.
Warnings: MANY SNAKES, Body Horror, Organ Trafficking, Horror Themes, Violence, and we will be updating this as we go along.



A waking scream in the darkness is the first unheard omen.

Snakes, hundreds if not thousands, slither forth from the depths of Lorentia Cave and swiftly invade Aldrip. They are the heralds of the terrible things to come, and there are no corners safe from their encroachment. The serpents come in all shape and sizes, venomous or not, and are quick to become agitated if approached. Their readiness to strike and unwillingness to back off once provoked indicates the lack of survival instinct to flee. They are on the search for what's missing, and they will put up a fight.

An invisible haze sets upon the city , filled with anguish and fury, afflicting residents as it washes through the air and buildings. Children, the elderly, and the sickly are the first to complain of ailment. Within the next few days, patients begin to flood the doors of any hospital or clinic with more serious conditions-- fevers burning from them inside out and excruciating phantom pains that make them writhe in bed.

The longer what's stolen is not returned, the worse things get. Who knows how many bodies will pile high from these plagues if nothing gets done...

[ Dara is currently locked behind a barrier in Lorentia Cave to stave off the further spread of deadly miasma. Please retrieve a protection talisman from Seimei and retrieve what she’s lost (and hopefully return it…) !

How This Works–
To begin the search for the supernatural sources a participant can select a number that corresponds to one of the squares on the map (seen below). To go on a route head on down to the numbered top levels in the comments and reply to it. This is your character kicking off their investigation. Some routes will lead to nowhere, some to something, and others to ;)? You’ll find out.

During exploration you will receive responses from either quizpersona or cursegod. This is not an interaction with that particular character unless indicated otherwise.

This event will handwave wrap up by the 20th if no conclusion is reached before then because Dara needs her poor organs back. ]

[she hadn't wasted much time in responding to the network post. knowing Dara, and even having had Dara help her... she had to return the favor.

even if it was a creepy as fuck sort of mission that they were on right now. she doesn't really know how the dominoes fell the way they did, but she's not going to question it.

of course, she's going to drag Caitlyn along. not that it takes the other woman much convincing, because this kind of shit is right up her alley.]

Come on. [she says, as she enters the commercial district.] We gotta find Dara's...

[whatever. she waves her hand around.]

[Even if things had been a bit awkward since regaining their memories, Caitlyn was on board the second Vi said someone she knew needed help. She remembers hearing the name Dara from Vi a few times, but never had the fortune to meet her yet herself.

Hopefully, that could be changed once they helped her.

They had received two talismans, and instructions on what to do to find these, erm… “pieces”, as well as how to handle anything found. So here they were, starting their search. She lets Vi lead, but she’s scanning the area, taking in any and all clues that might be there.]

Seimei said we should be able to sense the miasma trail when we find it. But keep an eye out for snakes, too. [They’ve already discussed everything they learned from the network post, she’s just reiterating it.]

[Being on the outskirts of the city means less buildings for an organ to be hidden in. Shouldn't that make things easier? Then again, would a chaotic clown like Gogol really hide something so important where there's less people to take part in shenanigans? Who knows-- it's probably not the best headspace to emulate either.

The couple find themselves on a path familiar to those who have sought out to ease pain, reduce their stress, or maybe even improve their cardiovascular health. As they approach the sauna all of these things no longer apply. The humidity spikes as if the wooden fixture can barely contain the steam building up inside. Oddly enough, the little window looking in is pitch black...although a second glance and the right reflection of light reveals the darkness to be a mass of inky, black hair.

Do they dare attempt to open the door?]

[when Vi sees the sauna, she stops. goosebumps begin to rise on her flesh, and she starts to ready her gauntlets.

she doesn't know if there's anything tangible in there to punch to death... but by gods she's going to try.]

You should stay behind me. Just in case.

[oh she's so heroic--]

[The sauna is almost creepy enough by itself, without the current situation happening. On first glance, she does indeed see the darkness in the window and assume it's empty, but upon that second glance--

Normally Caitlyn is brave and confident but yeah nah she's gonna let Vi take the lead on this one.

Only because a rifle isn't good in such a confined place! That's all!]

In the window. Do you think that's--- ? [She trails off because ?? IT FEELS WEIRD TO SAY A PIECE, OR PART OF HER... But Caitlyn doesn't actually know Dara, so she's having to go by the description Vi gave her, but then again, organs!! How identifiable will anything they find be?

Anyway... she nods to Vi, most definitely letting her approach the door first. But she has her rifle out and up, aiming at the door.]

I'm right behind you.

[Upon opening the door, two things are immediately obvious: the sauna is FILLED with hair growing out of the ceiling and there's a squirming body on the floor wrapped in a black cocoon made of that same hair. The person's screaming is muffled into a quiet whisper, and if the couple takes the moment to rip open the trap, they may recognize the sauna elf...who immediately passes out from relief. And maybe from heat stroke because it is steamy inside.]

[Vi's stomach lurches as she takes in the scene... but when she sees the sauna elf, she jumps. she moves inside slowly at first, and then quicker to try to tear off the hair of the sauna elf. a knife probably would've been better, but she's probably strong enough to break through it anyway.

now time to get the sauna elf out, or at least try to--]

[Caitlyn's definitely full of unease as Vi opens the door, but as she promised, she's right behind her. Rifle in her hands, she scopes each corner of the room, before her focus comes back to Vi's attempts to tear the hair away to save the poor sauna elf.

She reaches into her pocket, pulling out one of her knives and joins in the attempts to speed up the process and free him quicker. The sooner they get him free, the sooner they can get him outside and into some fresh air. The poor thing.]

[Unfortunately for Caitlyn, there's no way to see into the sauna beyond the immediate spot where the poor civilian was occupying. The sauna is FILLED with hair, like some black upside-down corn maze. Except there is no path to take. They have to make one if they want to find out what's inside.]

This is why I keep my hair short!!

[Vi please. she sets the little elf aside for now, and sets the gauntlets near her as she starts trying to tear at the hair. she doesn't have anything sharp because it's not her style, but she's strong, so she's trying to womanhandle all the the hair into submission for now.]

Maybe we should've brought some scissors!

Here, use this-- [Caitlyn pulls out another knife and offers it to Vi. She's strong, yes, but there's only so much her strength can help with something like this. Tearing the hair apart with her bare hands endlessly would be exhausting.]

When you asked for my help, I didn't know we'd be playing barber.

[Because the amount of hair in here? It's utterly insane worthy. But this is a goddess, they were dealing with. If part of her is here, then there must be some magic to it, causing this...insane hair growth.]

[Tugging the hair out from the ceiling seems impossible. With each yank, the hair grows along with the motion, creating a small pile of on the floor where the extra length drapes. However, the use of the knife brings more success. The handful that's sliced away sits in the palm before mysteriously disappearing in the blink of an eye. The space that's been pruned remains empty, with the remainder overhead growing back. Give it a minute and it will be back to half length, with two minutes back in full.]

[she looks over when Caitlyn offers the knife and takes it, starting to slice through the hair too. she's going to keep going as much as she can when she realizes that she can do it like this, and that they'll actually get somewhere.

hopefully they find a way through it, or something, soon.]

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it either. What a surprise for us.

It's always something around here, isn't it?

[Caitlyn notices the difference the knives make, but the hair is still growing and returning quickly, so she picks up the pace.

If they keep this up quickly, hopefully they can at least reach the other side of the room before it's engulfed with hair again. They'll likely have to cut their way out to leave again too, the way this is looking.]
