[So Yosuke is seeing things, too...something tightens in his chest, some distant feeling of worry, difficult to pinpoint and explain. Something about all of this really, really isn't right. He's afraid to find out why.]
It's the same for me, [he admits quietly, thoughtfully pushing his glasses up on his nose.] I thought they were just dreams, but they've started happening while I was awake.
[Yu wobbles on his feet a bit; whatever he just did, it was exhausting, as if he just ran a marathon, and he sinks to the ground with a slow sigh. Whether Yosuke is planning to be here for a while or not, he certainly is.]
People, mostly. It was as if we were friends, but I didn't recognize them.
[That's not all, of course, but some of it really does sound over the top. Monsters, fog...he's not sure he's prepared for the look on Yosuke's face if he starts sounding that crazy.]
[Friends aren't something you forget that easily...right? Frowning, he adjusts his glasses; a habit he's picked up over the years, and a surefire tell that he's thinking hard about something. That said, the question comes as something of a surprise, and he lifts his eyebrows at it.]
... No. It's not. It was strongest when that thing appeared, but...it was happening before that, too. [The way he asks that question is a bit worrying, though, so he follows up:] It's not the first time for you either, right?
Mostly I remember working at some shitty store. But other times... there's some girls that I feel like I should know in a classroom. Kind of like what just happened here.
I saw a few other people this time too, whatever just happened.
[He stalls there for a moment, warring thoughts competing in his mind. This can't be a coincidence; logically, he believes that. And yet...something in his mind, in his very core, doesn't want to believe any of it.
If he just forgets about it...everything will be normal. Everything will be fine.
--But he can't.]
Everyone else's dreams have been different so far...from the people I've talked to, at least. This is the first time anyone else has had the same one I have.
[Somehow, it feels like a relief that it's Yosuke.]
[Yu breathes out a sigh and removes his glasses and puts a hand over his eyes. He's not sure he can say he has a headache over all of this, but he's exhausted and worn out. It's like something is buzzing at the back of his mind, something working his thoughts into overdrive.]
Someone told me they thought we were all dreaming of past lives. I wasn't sure I was willing to believe that, but...maybe it's true.
I know what you mean. It's like my mind is unwilling to acknowledge it.
[And somehow, that only makes it more unsettling. The fact that they're sharing the experience...does that mean something is really going on?
Yu doesn't elaborate on the feeling as much as he wants, because it sounds a little extreme when he thinks on it too hard. The nagging feeling in his mind that something he truly cares about is going to come to an end, as if investigating these occurrences will ruin everything...
But somehow he can't fully turn away from it.]
The more my mind wants to resist, the more I think it has to be something important.
I think so too. Like... why would we even have these problems if it wasn't important?
[it wouldn't make sense for them all to just be hallucinating something like this. he rubs at his face as he gets to standing up again, holding out a hand for Yu to take so he can get up as well.]
Here. Let's get you sitting somewhere until you get enough energy to go home.

[Not to mention that strange creature...]

What else have you been seeing?
[he wonders if they'd be there a while. he isn't sure how where to start at unpacking his own not-dreams.]

What about you?
no subject
Same, kinda. But if we were all friends with other people, wouldn't we remember that?
[. . .]
Hey. Is this the first time you've... uh, felt something like this? With the memories, I mean.

He hesitates a moment before venturing,]
The girls. Was one of them wearing green?
no subject
after a few moments, he nods.]
Yeah. She had a weird bowl-cut too, right?
no subject
And a friend with dark hair.
no subject
[that's what he's talking about, right?]
And... Naoto was there, too. Right?

Naoto had a similar dream the other day, I think. She had a dream... or memories of us, too.
[he rubs his face, thinking that his brain is going to just get scrambled.]
Why would all three of us have those?

It makes sense... but not.
[he frowns. this is all really out of his realm of thinking as far as he "remembers". in Aldrip, weird shit like that didn't just happen.
right??]
Like, I feel like you're right. But there's something nagging at me that says you're wrong... it's so frustrating.
