[It's been a long day of Health Inspecting, while simultaneously studying for the entrance exam for the police academy, and yeah, Caitlyn's tired and ready to get home to her fiancée, but here she is, dipping into the flower shop to take a look around.
Vi might not be quite the sappy romantic that she is, but who doesn't love flowers? Besides, it's always nice to have something beautiful and fresh to brighten up a room.
She smiles at Yu as he greets her, of course recognizing him. She frequents here and the book store, so she sees him often enough. He stays busy, doesn't he?]
Just looking for something nice to bring home. Anything special blooming today?
[The aspiring police officer...if he remembers right. Yu doesn't make a big show of remembering regulars, but he does like to, filing away information for later days when it might become useful.
Her case is especially interesting, to be honest. He's a bit of an amateur detective, himself. But that's neither here nor there; for now, he's donned the proverbial hat of a florist, and while he's not as knowledgeable as the shop's owner, he's been working here long enough to know a thing or two about what they've got growing at the time.]
Most likely. What kind of special?
[He hasn't exactly kept up on the hot gossip of her love life.]
Anything new, or different. [It's not really a special occasion, but Vi likes nature, so she likes to bring home something pretty.]
It's not a special occasion, or anything like that. More of a 'thinking of you' bouquet, I guess.
[listen.... the aspiring cop dating the ex-criminal? The daughter of a far away, affluent family, that ran away to have a life of her own, out of their shadow? And for that same girl to have fallen for someone charged with killing their entire family in a fire? She knows people probably talk. But she doesn't care. She loves Vi, and she's happy with where life has brought her.]
[Thinking about you. That's sweet. As curious as he is, he holds off on asking more about this mysterious beau. Their friendship isn't that deep yet.
As for the flowers...he glances around the shop, pointing out a few things as he goes--] We got some pink orchids in recently. Green and blue hydrangeas, too. Any of those sound appealing?
[Caitlyn moves to exam Yu's suggestions as he points a few things out, but it's the hydrangeas she hovers at, taking in the floral scent they're giving off.]
Oh, these are lovely. Can I get a bouquet made with them? The rest can be whatever you think will match best.
[She isn't too picky. It's more for Vi, anyway, and she gets excited no matter what living plant she sees.]
[His expression brightens by a fraction -- it feels good, guessing something that a customer will like. There's something familiar about the feeling, lodged in the back of Yu's mind, somewhere he's not thinking about just yet. He'll work through that later. For now, he nods.]
Got it. Just a few minutes.
[blablabla minor timeskip you know how it be-- Anyway, when he returns, it's with a bouquet mostly of blue, peppered with highlights of green and white. Whomever Caitlyn is giving it to, hopefully it'll make them think of her -- the dark blue of her hair, maybe.]
