house party (open log)
Who: Scott Summers and anyone stopping by
Where: Scott's new home
What: Irresponsible teenager from 1980s America wants to throw a party like he sees in the movies. Also something something surviving the maze and dealing with the locals being cold suddenly. Also, it's Scott's and Jinx's birthday! Sort of. They're combining it.
Warnings: Underage drinking, teenage stupidity probably, will update as things continue!
[Maybe you saw Scott's post earlier about hosting a party, or just come across his house, the door's open and everything! Scott probably won't mind if it's someone he dislikes, but he'll just have to suck it up anyway! It's probably good there's not a lot of furniture in the house yet, leaving the space more open for people to mingle and play games. If it gets too crowded, well, there's always the front yard and a couple of rooms to hide yourself in.
Of course, it isn't a party without:
Food: Scott's only scourged up snacks on his end, along with a couple of pizza boxes and sandwiches, so potluck style, bring something that will amaze the other guests or make use of the bathrooms in the houselooking at you Mitama.
Drinks: Along with some water and juice, it wouldn't be a party without alcohol. There's a keg of beer that he somehow acquired that people can pour into their cup. Sadly, he doesn't really have any other alcoholic drinks unless someone else decides to bring some!
Games: Any stereotypical game you can think of will probably be played, from Truth or Dare, to Seven Minutes in Heaven, Never Have I Ever, Would you Rather, Spin the Bottle, and etc. There's also a table where people can set up a game of beer pong at.]
[ooc: This is an open post, so please feel free to make your own top level!]

imagine. if jinx tripped somehow or got distracted, she would had gotten seriously hurt. although, the teen is an expert when it comes to these kind of things, so maybe it's all second nature to her. regardless, she is by yu now -- watching the the little thing popping all kinds of ways and making so much noise in awe. )
Ain't it a beaut?
no subject
... I mean, not that she's wrong, fireworks are cool.]
It is. [A small smile.] You must really like things like this.
[She looks like it, at least.]
no subject
( unfortunately, the firecracker is short lived. the tiny thing is only meant to spark off for a few seconds until it's just smoke filling the skies. but even with that, there's something whimsical with that too. the way the fumes dance so gracefully into it evaporates is almost mesmerizing. )
no subject
I think I understand.
[A pause. He watches the smoke as it dissipates into the air, feeling a sudden wave of...nostalgia, maybe. Arriving here means he missed a lot of summertime traditions at home -- hanabi festivals being one of them. So it's kind of nice, seeing the fireworks...even if it's a little late in the year.]
... People have used fireworks in my world for thousands of years. It's sort of comforting to find that other worlds use them, too.
no subject
( because explosions are not only a rush for her but comfort too. and sometimes, just idly tossing them off a high place helps her think or fit all the puzzle pieces together. )
You wanna blow off another one?
( she asks after the smoke finally becomes invisible to the eye, turning her attention fully back to him. )
no subject
... But it's true that nothing's been caught on fire, so hey, why not.]
Sure. Let's make it a good one.
[dear god hopefully he won't come to regret saying that]
no subject
( without any further delays, jinx sprints over to the box of goodies again and yanks out an explosive that's appears standard size. but what makes this particular one different is the width of it. the dynamite is much thicker. )
This one's got your name all over it. Say hello to Bubba bam!!
no subject
...
Anyway, he leans closer to examine it before committing to anything that could get him killed. He's not sure it's really "got his name all over it," but let it never be said that Yu Narukami is not up to a challenge. He's fought Shadows and gods and he's not going to be scared off by a package of explosive chemicals.]
Three feet again? Or should I stand back further?
no subject
( and instead of letting him handle the firework, jinx sets it up for him by propping up the thing with a little stand. )
Just gotta make sure he's all good to go before you light him up.
no subject
... This is probably a slightly crazy idea, but--]
Maybe I should light it from a distance, then.
[Now which of his Personas had fire, again? Hmmm.]
no subject
( giggling artfully as usual, she returns to by her new friend's side with a bounce. she shuffles in her pocket for yet another match and gleams him a wink his way. once between the padded of her fingers, she extends the stick for yu to take. )
Impress me, Buckeroo. Let's see whatcha got!
no subject
Meaning he stands back, giving the explosive a wide berth. He waves off the match, and instead, he focuses a bit on-- ah, there. The card appears in hand and shatters, summoning a strange, feminine-looking creature, who floats near the firework.]
Let's light it up, Kikuri-Hime. Agilao!
[Poof! A little fire, and the explosive starts counting down to liftoff. Kikuri-Hime disappears.
Is he showing off a bit? Yeah. Maybe a little.]
no subject
Wooooah... You can just summon chicks at will?
no subject
He huffs out a soft chuckle at the wording choice, though.]
They're more like demons.
[--he says, with a friendly and genial smile.]
no subject
( she repeats, just to be clear what she heard is what she heard. once again, she cocks her head to the side steadily. )
Then you must be a God, right?
no subject
[Uh.]
No. I'm a high schooler. It's-- it's just a power.
no subject
( a slight letdown but still somewhat cool. it's not like she has any powers herself, besides the ability to create anything with just scrap metal. there's shimmer that grants her speed and inhuman leap, but without the constant supply of serum pumping in her veins, that can fade away at the drop of a hat. )
How did ya get it? Or were you just, y'know, born with it?
no subject
[And complicated. It did involve a god, he supposes, but...well, trying to explain how Personas work is never easy. Something something latent power and true selves etc.]
Both, I think? I had some help awakening it.
