I see. So it relies upon the combustive force of an explosion, allowing the projectile to cross a large distance in a short amount of time... whereas an arrow travels at a slower pace due to the mechanism by which it launches and the drag caused by the fletching...

But the fletching is what stabilizes an arrow in flight. How is it that the rifle's bullet maintains such a precise trajectory...?

[Being that he hadn't known what a rifle was until this moment, he naturally knows naught about rifling.]
