FESTIVAL OF THE SUN
[ Shinichi can't remember the last time he was at the beach.... or spent much time out in the sun in general, really. Life back home didn't really allow for such luxuries; most of his time was spent worrying about the alien invasion going on in Tokyo.... and running around trying to keep everyone else safe, while simultaneously not letting anyone else discover the truth...! Needless to say, he's kind of overdue for a little vacation. And while it's difficult to truly let himself relax (constantly worrying about what's happening back home, or whether more alien parasites might follow him here to Aldrip and endanger everyone.... and then there's the crime he's been accused of, a horror he's been carrying with himself!!!) even Shinichi "The Worrier" Izumi can't resist some of the pleasantries of the festival for long.
He spends a lot of time at the beach itself. The boy's sweatervest, socks, and shoes have been tugged off and neatly placed in a pile on the sand, leaving him in his button-down and jeans. The ends of both are rolled up, and that's his Beach Look....
At some point he's walking along the shoreline, enjoying the feeling of water gently licking up against his bare ankles, and the smell of the fresh ocean breeze. Until his right hand gives his shirt front a little tug, and the boy pauses, brows lifted. Oh, Migi wants to examine something....? This is Fine. Shinichi crouches down, holding out his hand to let the alien explore, watching with a faint mix of amusement and discomfort as his arm roams around on its own, poking at a shell or maybe a piece of coral, whatever's caught the alien's attention at that time β and so many things do. This is Migi's first time at the beach too, after all.
The trouble is, however, that the alien is extremely sensitive to changes in temperature, and does not like cold water.... so he might hesitantly pat at something and jerk back, or make Shinichi dry it off for him first... There the boy is, crouched over the sand, gently drying off a large shell against the fabric of his own shirt before his left hand gives it over to his right. Or maybe you actually hear him muttering quietly, seemingly to himself β "Wait a second, it's still wet...!"
Or you might spot Shinichi building a sandcastle, kneeling down in the sand and carefully tucking it up into piles. His progress isn't..... great, he's not much of an architect, and mostly what he's building kind of looks like a few lumps.... but he's having a nice time. This is nice...! Migi does Get Upset by the wet sand at times and might abruptly toss it away or suddenly duck into the fabric of Shinichi's shirt front, curling up against the material to try and find warmth again.... The boy will give a sigh, left fingers gently coaxing his right wrist away from his body. ....If you happen to be close, his hand might also try to steal a towel or something of that nature from you.
It's difficult to have a truly relaxing beach experience when one is constantly having to babysit one's sentient alien hand.
But the decorating / crafting tables are also fun to explore. Shinichi's brought over a pile of shells he's collected from the shoreline and works on stringing some together to make a necklace, looking up to shyly greet anyone else who might want to join in one some crafting or decorating. Of course, Migi also wants to get his.... hand on exploring this, and at some point Shinichi gets some paints together for him and lets the alien have fun dipping into them. Migi's not exactly a creative entity; he's more about Obtaining Information, so he's not really painting pictures, more just.... touching everything and experimenting with it. Spreading colours out over a slab of wood, mixing them to make new colours or observing textures... It probably just looks like Shinichi is painting with all the skill of a toddler over here, but it's fine, he's been embarrassed by Migi before..... and maybe all this will tire the alien out so he'll have a nice long nap later. ]
STOP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS
CW: BLINDNESS AND SUBSEQUENT PANICKING... ALSO MENTIONS OF ALIEN THREATS TO MAIM A PERSON, IT'S FINE
[ Of course Migi would jump on the opportunity to Collect Samples and Make Observations about them. When word starts drifting around about new flora and fauna popping up, the alien wastes no time encouraging (read: forcing) his human host to go gather some samples. So Shinichi does, albeit carefully (because he does suffer pretty bad allergies....) but surprisingly, nothing out there seems to trigger them. Huh. That's a nice surprise!
He's clipping a few samples for Migi when some of the pollen dust from a group of the flowers disturbs and swells back towards him. It takes a few minutes for its effect to take hold; Shinichi's in the process of bagging up his samples and turning to head back towards town, when........
Everything goes black. It's so sudden and unexpected that his initial reaction is shock, then alarm, and when Migi quickly examines his eyes and determines he can find no physical impairment or damage that could be causing this..... panic begins to take hold.
It's a fear that's lived not-so-deep-down within him, a persistent thing ever since he was still so new to Migi and the alien threatened to remove his senses, should Shinichi go against him. It's been awhile since then, enough time that the parasite has calmed down a bit with the threats, but that fear.... it hasn't gone away. The knowledge that an alien entity is attached to him, one that could irreparably damage him at any given moment, something capable of maiming him to suit its own needs.....
The panic rises, and he's flinching back from Migi's voice, from the alien that hovers in front of his face, right hand trying to reach for and calm him down. Shinichi can't handle it, unable to stop himself from crying out against it, stumbling blindly in the direction of town. ]

.. until she spots a familiar face, anyway. It's that sight that makes her move through the people that have gathered on the beach, towards the area where people are building castles in the sand, all the way until she's right next to the lumps that are Shinichi's castle. ]
You're doing this? [ Her tone doesn't sound judging, which is honestly a Shinichi privilege at this point. There are plenty of other people Ange would have judged, but.. you know, Shinichi has definitely left the impression of just being a human marshmallow on her, which means she can't go too hard on him without feeling massively guilty.
So instead she just sounds genuinely curious. She didn't know you enjoyed this sort of thing, Shinichi.. Or that your skill in building sandcastles is.. perhaps.. a little lacking, to put it mildly.
Of course she doesn't know quite yet that this is actually a two person - or maybe one-hand - effort, since that was hard to spot from a distance, especially when Migi is in Shinichi's hand. It's easy to assume it's just the guy doing it by himself. ]
stop and smell the flowers;
But luckily, mostly for his pride, he doesn't get much of a chance to, as he sees the familiar form of Shinichi and fuck, what's going on with him? As President of TWAT Club, his responsibilities include caring about other members. Probably. He's declared it now. Also, focusing less on his own shit right now sounds great. It's probably little crappy to think of Shinichi as a distraction, but he's genuinely worried anyway.
He hurries over to him and as he hears what the other boy is actually saying, a sharp pang of empathy emerges, remembering the time when he walked around blind and scared when his powers first awakened. Okay, maybe not fully blind, but everything kind of blew up when he opened his eyes. So, not a great time and he gets it.
So, as he nears him:]
Shinichi, it's me, Scott. What happened?

Hey - [Running over to the other boy, he's already looking for signs of physical trauma. There's no copious amounts of blood, so that's promising...] Hey - it's okay - I'm a healer. I'm right here.
[Gently, he reaches out to touch Shinichi's shoulder. If he can't see, then moving too fast is probably going to freak him out even more...]
