[Open] Another Ordinary Day For Touma
Who: Kamijou Touma & You
Where: Around Aldrip
What: Shenanigans
Warnings: None right now.
Lost Innocent Soul
Touma found the town of Aldrip to be quite a lively place. The teenager wandered about the bustling streets, taking in all the sights. Compared to technologic marvel of Academy City or the blinding LCDs that made up Shibuya, Aldrip felt woefully out of date. The city kind of reminded him of a place he briefly visited during his trek through the snowy lands of Denmark. All the buildings were made of brick and stone instead of the usual steel and concrete of his home.
While it would be nice to treat his current situation as a surprise vacation and keep touring the town, there was a pressing matter that he desperately needed to solve if he wished to remain alive. He needed money. It was obvious he was not going to be returning home any time soon so gathering funds in this foreign world was crucial for survival. Humans needed food, water, and shelter to live. Thanks to the generosity of the people in this world, he at least had a place to sleep. Now he just had to find somewhere willing to hire a hopeless teenager like him and he could secure the rest on his own.
His thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of a young child crying. Standing in front of a bakery was a little girl who looked about elementary school age. Tears and snot dripped down her red face as she bawled her eyes out. Despite her obvious distress, nobody around her attempted to help, instead opting to ignore her and keep their distance.
Touma, however, couldn't stand seeing her in such a state. He walked up to her and gently smiled.
"Hey, what's the matter? Are you hurt?"
"Mommy's... gone," she chocked out in-between tears. "I can't find her. I look and look and she's not anywhere."
"I'm sure she's around here somewhere. In fact, I bet she's trying to find you as well. Tell you what? How about I help you find your mom? The two of us can look together."
She let a little sniffle. "...Really?"
"Of course! Just leave it to big brother Touma!" He proudly said as he held out his hand towards her. She stared at it for a moment before hesitatingly reaching out and taking his hand. Now that he had managed to calm her down, the next step was finding her mom. A task that was easier said than done.
"So, what's your name?" he asked.
"Olivia."
"Olivia, do you remember the last place you were with your mom at?"
"There." she pointed to entrance of the bakery.
It was a start. Her mom probably wasn't there, but he could at least ask anyone inside if they've seen them. The two entered the building together and he immediately starting getting to work asking around.
"Excuse me. I'm trying to find this little girl's mom and I was wondering if you might have seen her?"
Medieval Joyride
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
What should have been a relaxing introduction to horseback ridding turned into a disorienting, life-threatening race through the cobblestone streets of the Aldrip. One of the locals had promised in exchange for work to help teach Touma how to properly ride a horse. Given his current circumstances and lack of modern transportation options, he agreed and was allowed to practice on one of their more docile horses. Named after the soft brown color of her coat, Cinnamon proved to be the perfect horse for a complete amateur like him.
At least she was till a snake suddenly popped out of the grass where she had leaned down to graze in.
This was enough to frighten the normally docile horse into a mad dash, dragging the inexperienced teenager along for the ride. As Cinnamon wildly charged about, Touma desperately hung on to her side, putting all his effort into preventing himself from completely slipping off and getting trampled to death underneath her powerful hooves. He barely registered the panicked shouts of her owner as she escaped farther into Aldrip and into one their Marketplaces.
The only silver lining was the fact the Marketplace was past its peak hours. This made it much easier for people to jump out the way of Cinnamon's rampage without crashing into each other. It was a small comfort, but ultimately didn't mean much if he couldn't figure out a way to sooth Cinnamon. The longer this went on, the more likely someone was going to end up a casualty.
As people scrambled to distance themselves from the impeding danger, Touma noticed a lone individual still standing within Cinnamon's path. He wasted no time shouting at them in an attempt to get them to move.
"Don't just stand there! Get out the way!"

Her first reaction is to grab her rifle, spin backwards, cock the weapon and let out a blast of Dark Astral Energy that snags the horse's hoofs and pulls it until it starts to slow down.
"Jump while it's nearly stopped. I'll heal you afterwards."

As Touma continued to hold on for dear life, the young woman called for him to jump as she wangled the unruly horse. Within seconds, Cinnamon went from full gallop to much slower trout as she fought against the magic binding her. He had no idea how long the young woman could restrain Cinnamon, but he decided to follow her instructions while he had the chance.
Putting as much strength as he could in his arms, he pushed himself off Cinnamon. For a split-second, the ground and sky swapped places as he fell, before switching back as he crashed against the stone street below. He made sure to roll once he hit the ground, minimizing the damage from the impact. His rolling soon came to a stop, leaving him bruised and covered in cuts, but overall unharmed.

She spares a glance as the boy jumps free, making a mental note of where he is so that she can get to him when the horse is dealt with. She takes a moment to consider things. Back on Dahna, she'd probably just put this horse down and then they could have some decent food for a while. However, she's noticed that more than a few people are sort of partial to the creatures and might be angry if she killed the horse for being a bit crazed. She could touch it and see if her curse causes it to pass out, but that seems cruel as well.
With a sigh, she walks over to the horse slowly, her hands out before her as she begins to cast a healing spell. Her blue eyes shine brightly as her artes are being used. She's still not sure how, since there's no Astral energy, but she's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, as it were. A smile slowly creeps up on her as she sees the horse's wild eyes calm and the rest of the Gravitational spell wears off so that it can go where it wants. "Sorry about that. I just didn't want you or the boy to get hurt. Go home."
And then she turns her attention to the boy, readying another First Aid. "You seem pretty whole as well. Good."
