Vi sets her cooler down on the ground next to the stool she chooses, and sits. she grabs a can of beer out of it, popping one open and taking a sip of it. don't ask her how much she spent on all of that -- it's probably way too much.]
Why not?
[she sighs a bit, looking at the water.]
You see those guys trying to get that bigass fish out of the water earlier? How do you stay grounded when you don't even have any legs?
[It's not a true lie! It's the thing she remembers the most of the happy memories.
She closes her eyes when he rests against the top of her head, her lips curving into a smile at the familiar warmth of his body pressed against hers. It's nice to spend quiet time like this together, even if she doesn't really care about catching fish. Or not catching fish, as seem to be the case for both of them.]
A name, huh...? [Hmm... there were some cool names for her different Persona attacks, but none of those seem to fit. Maybe instead...]
[grinning from ear to ear, jinx leaps off of the roof and lands strong besides her counterpart, her boots crushing gravel then they skid across them as she marches forward to get a closer look.]
Are you? Last chance to turn back, Toots. And I don't normally warn people twice. Call it ,"generosity".
[and now the duo are meeting each other face to face, the bluenette takes this opportunity to circle around elphelt — like a hunter inspecting its meal and whether they're really worth their time or their filling.]
[Oooh! As she is being given a thorough look-over, Elphelt puts a hand on her hip and another in the air, posing. She isn't sure what is going on or who this chick is, but this is cool.]
I don't turn back. I keep going, full steam ahead. I appreciate the generosity, though--that's sweet.
[She still does not know what this is actually about...]
[Unfortunately, he doesn't see past the illusion just yet, only able to look at the Professor's kindly face that gets more worried by the second. He's asking Scott what's wrong, if there's something that he can help with, before the tone immediately shifts into something accusatory-- a voice that he really hasn't taken with Scott before, and asking something else entirely:
Why did he kill him?
Immediately, Scott jolts back from the illusion, from Kurt, which only manages to tug his best friend along with him as he shakes his head. Eyes closing shut, Scott tries to fight off the voice and how these past few days have been draining, but still unable to stop himself from shouting his next words out loud.]
[As he hears Ange-- watches her run over to him, the mutant breaks into an easy smile that he doesn't do just for anyone. REALLY... he's just always a little more sociable when it comes to her. Not to mention that more of their friends seem to disappear from this world, so he's glad to see her. Plus, he's maybe just a little excited to show her the silly little figurine that he has of one Kotone Shiomi.
At least he greets her in a mostly normal manner.]
Hey Ange. [Yep, just that, thankfully. Nothing over the top.] And it's a small figurine of Kotone. I found it in one of the eggs.
[He holds it out for Ange to look at. It doesn't look like a voodoo doll or anything... it's probably fine. One may even call it cute.] She even has the same dopey face as her.
[There's a pause after that, Scott blinking a few times behind his sunglasses because seriously? ...That's so cool. She's really cool. The teen's already impressed, assuming that she isn't lying, but he's giving her the benefit of the doubt right now-- he wants to hear more now! Because uh, who doesn't want to hear someone drive a motorcycle into a lake of fire to get rid of a bomb??
That's some movie shit.
There's no hiding his curiosity, the mutant cocking his head to the side as he smiles at her. Wow, she might've given Mikey a challenge if he was still here...]
[They'll come back to the locals with no fish caught... they'll make it up to them later. Probably. He doesn't really care all that much, if he's at all honest about that. What's most important to him is the girl sitting next to him. Isn't that how it always is? Yeah, so sue him. It's not going to change ever.
It really is nice though, sitting here and pretending to fish. Their bodies close and just enjoying this simple contact. Watching the calm ocean. Just another memory he wants to carve into his mind forever. She'll feel him laugh against her as she suggests that name, the mutant letting out a small hum as he pretends to think real hard about this.]
I like it. [...] That's us, huh? 'Scottone.' I could get used to saying that.
[Their names meshed together. It's silly, but he repeats it again with another laugh, heart light in the first time in days.] It's either that or 'Kotott.'
[Surprisingly enough, the constant rumors and gossip that passed from lips to another did not really bother Richard as he walked the unknown streets of Rumpitur. As someone born to high position in his own world, such behavior was to be expected from others, even. There would always be the critics and naysayers and whatnot, so he had learned not to care about them.
However, that didn't mean that he didn't pay attention to them. Which, honestly, would be quite difficult to do considering that the snake creatures didn't even bother being discreet with their tattle.
He was inspecting some of the eggs that he had came across earlier when he heard the latest rumors being "whispered" behind his back. Something about him being the savage that hunts every living creature in the woods who eats his prey fresh. Ridiculous but he's been called worse.]
Aye. However, it seems like that the further the stories travel the taller they grow.
[ if she ingests poison, then it's probably just one of the unlucky eggs! which would be terrible, but maybe she'd just respawn? the whole death thing is too confusing! either way, she tries to place the taste in her mouth. doesn't taste like poison? not that she knows what poison tastes like. ]
Hmmm, tastes like any kind of candy egg to me. It's probably fine!
[ as she tries to piece this together, she's nonchalantly sliding to within that three foot range. oops. ]
[Kurt stumbles a little as Scott suddenly jerks away, and he takes a second to regain his balance. But he's also mentally thrown off by Scott's words.]
Wh-what? I never said you did! We're cool, man! What's going on?
[He reaches out to Scott, to try to put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.]
