Who: Kabane and Echo
Where: Up a tree
What: Kabane is sleeping in a tree. This warrants a 5:30AM explanation.
Warnings: N/A
Something Kabane had discovered since claiming a room at the inn was that sleeping alone is hard actually.
It didn't used to be. In fact, back in Deer Village, it was much easier for him to sleep alone than with anyone else. Back then, it was much easier to do everything alone. A lot had changed since then. It had been months since he'd slept alone, since he'd grown accustomed to the luxury of being able to roll over and immediately see proof that his friends were alive and well. Being greeted by an empty wall instead left him hollow and aching, unable to soothe the knots twisting in his chest.
Some nights, the only solution he could come up with was to simply leave the room.
He beat a winding path through the midnight cityscape, and eventually, the chill air calmed him down enough to close his eyes and get some rest.
Ten feet up a tree.
