At least for Kurama none of this is too weird. Not that forced hand-holding is normal by any stretch, but after months in Aldrip, this is more or less safe and non-threatening. Sometimes those situations almost seem worse, a carefully disguised trap under cover of harmless “fun”. Here though, it actually seems pretty pointless. Boring, even, to find nothing happening in the tunnel and some low budget performance at the end. Anticlimactic.

So much so that he's not even waiting on that other shoe to drop, as he's become so prone to doing with any quiet activity this place has to offer.

At least, until Kuwabara points out that they're still stuck and shouldn't they have been released by now? His own gaze lowers to their hands as they refuse to come apart, scowling faintly at his friend's words. No offense taken, he's just as annoyed about it, himself. Not that he comments on that matter, instead simply agreeing with the assessment that it would make their lives difficult.

“Indeed, it would-”

He's already looking up again as he speaks, cutting his response short when he catches sight of Hiei with some event food in his own hand, the fire apparition glaring death at them as he asks if they're amused. The question of whether or not they look amused is practically on his tongue, irritated as he is by the many ways this place has been toying with them - benign as this one appeared to be - but he stops himself short. Recalling the weird animosity that seemed to be brewing between them at every opportunity in recent months and not wanting to encourage a fight that didn't need to be had, if he didn't have to.

Still, he's far from in the mood for whatever added self-imposed complication Hiei is about to throw into the mix. Unfortunately for Kuwabara, the fox is not exactly thinking about his tendency to clench his hands into fists while suppressing the urge to bite back at the moment, either.
