[Unlike that of his slightly younger and more naive self that was brought to this world beforehand, Ekko was far more sure of himself when it came to what which he desired between the pair of them. Especially after the turn of events which unfolded in the parallel dimension sharing his first kiss with Powder and asking to pretend like it was their first time given it technically was in his particular instance. Their romance flourished over the time spent working together on the Z-Drive, cherishing intimate moments shared between one another here and there sparingly as his heart filled with such joy.
All in all he knew it was not going to last given his inclination to return back to his proper timeline to be reunited with his Jinx, the one which stood before him here and now gently held in the wanton embrace. Having made amends for the past the boy looked to achieve that which he'd been given a chance to experience first hand, seeing the potential for good they both could accomplish whilst unified together instead of clawing at each others throats. Deep down he'd always harbored feelings of attachment towards the bluenette but only now felt comfortable to act upon them without further hesitation.
When his admission of feelings is swiftly met with an uproar of laughter, Ekko cannot help but pull back a bit with an arch of his brow confusedly. Initially his reaction was to reel away distraught if she found his ideologies laughable but was quickly followed up by the demand for a kiss instead of mucking about any further. Realizing she wanted him to get down to brass taxes, Ekko musters forth a breathy chuckle in tandem countered by an amused smirk. He should have known this might be her way of doing things by comparison to the other Powder's more softhearted approach.]
Here I thought you were going to tell me to buzz off like the bug I am...But who I am to object the symbol of Zaun?
[Words trailing off silently gauging her reaction for a moment or two before the hand grazing across her cheek moves to tilt her chin up just so to hold her gaze with his voice little louder than a whisper growing a bit bolder.]
I...won't deny I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time, Jinx.
[Slowly leaning forward Ekko's mouth hovers mere inches from her own, hot breathe cascading out as a nervous sigh escapes him despite this being everything he'd wanted since the first time he shared such an intimate moment. This time it was different though, this time it was his Jinx who'd ensnared his heart long before that of her older counterpart in the other dimension. Closing his eyes the boy simply gives into his natural inhibitions, gently sealing their lips together with brows knitting tightly as the tingling sensations course through him, butterflies pooling in the pit of his stomach much like they did before.]
[Listen to this man, calling his immense power to heal in a moment "not that impressive"... Incredible, really. Magic is not so common where Havemercy is from, at least not anywhere near where he's from; the other planets in the system have a much greater population of magicians than the little moon his home station orbits, so while he knows magic exists, to see anything like it so casually...
Well, it's very impressive, actually!!! He makes a face at Shigeru that might convey this, if the big watery-ness of his eyes and his dramatic frown are any indication.]
Give yourself more credit, man! You possess an immense talent!
[Be reasonable!!! Anyway, oh, the stuck thing, a distraction--] Oh— and here I was ready to give a speech.
[Oho, the perfect trade. He accepts the coffee with a little hum of thanks, falling into step with her to head for the tavern. He's fixed his hair since mussing it up before, so now they are just two perfectly ordinary new arrivals on a walk.]
Oh, yes, I'm in incredible danger if I so much as think too loudly about going out after dark.
[He wiggles his fingers over the side of the coffee cup, for emphasis. It's taking a shot at the kind of response his commitment to the bit got, even if he did it on purpose, but it is what it is: no, no, he's far too new and helpless-looking, he should stay indoors! Find that inn the newcomers all settle in, stay there, eat some stew or whatever.
Very quaint.]
From what I've been told, the base rumor about danger after dark has nothing to do with the coffins, can you believe that? I didn't know where to put myself. I asked a young man so confidently about it that he laughed!
[He shakes his head; maybe he should have put himself right back into the coffin? God. But that's worth knowing, even if it raises a few more insane questions.]
[The quiet in the study once the door is shut is not absolute, but it's quieter enough compared to the noises coming from outside the building that for a moment, it's kind of stifling. They shouldn't make too much noise in here, just in case; they probably shouldn't even stay too close to the study's door, but the way her leg looks...
Idly he reaches up to touch his face as an afterthought, where he'd been sprayed earlier; it's spread too, but not nearly as much. Less snow, less magic? Probably.]
Unfortunately, I'm no magician. Here- [He's got layers, so he shifts to shrug off his overcoat to hold it out to her, then glances around the study room to pick out the best corners to hide in, should they need that.] Do you happen to know how to negate magic from an unknown source? Or shall I find something to chip it away with?
[He's so unique and special and he's heard every single possible "that's really your name?"-type question that has ever been conceived. It's looped back around to charming, now that he's no longer an awkward child.
As for this other thing...]
Oh! I hail from Paragon Station, the last bastion of civilization before venturing into deep space. [Well. He glances up. At the sky. He doesn't know what planet this is, so,] From a given system, that is, as I've no idea where we are supposed to be right now. No matter, in short: I was born in space. You?
Heheh, so even gods wince when you look back at what you were doing a decade ago?
[It was honestly kind of nice to know that such a long-lived being still experienced something that was so common to the mortal experience. Maybe it was just a natural part of getting older, no matter what.
Morph's skin in this form does still feel like normal skin, their odd looks aside. There's another question only another shapeshifter would think to ask, and they do take a brief moment to think it over before answering.]
I don't usually make myself look older unless I have a reason to do it. That other form I used is the one that I change to age with me. I've dabbled in a feminine form too... but I haven't made any other personal looks.
[and that is all she will say about that, possibly loaning a little hint that maybe the reason she impulsively requested they should kiss is that this is something he had told her before. again, not the exact the same script, but the passion is still identical more or less.
when their lips join, she can feel the nerves on his side of things, in which, unfortunately, is something she can't share the experience with. thanks to well, him, (and quentin) kissing is something she is highly knowledgeable in, and he can possibly feel it when she gingerly presses back to him. jinx is trying not to get heated, to not behave barbaric due to his absence.
but it's so hard when she missed him so much, and knowing that she will have to just leave him again later. nonetheless. her heart throbs for him, moreover, the further she stays with him like this, the louder it hums within her chest. carefully, jinx shifts, and she cloaks her arms around his neck to prove she is comfortable with this, and with him. maybe a little too much, but... better than too much than too little.]
[With only Shigeru's word to go off of and no real certainty of the powers he clearly possesses, Altius is forced for now to assume he's telling the truth. He'll use the conversation to see if that's really true, but in the meantime he moves from his kneeling to sit, like he's ready to be there for some time.]
Oh. [ For a split second, Jayce looks crestfallen that he has not, in fact, found a fellow scientist genius enough to invent prosthetic laser eyes before the rest of what Clark says hits him. ] Oh!
[ Then he rewinds the rather one-sided conversation in his head and goes bright red, burying his face in his hand. ]
Ugh, I'm sorry, I've been a total ass. Can we just - can we just pretend the last two minutes never happened and start over? [ Lifting his head back up, he gives Clark an embarrassed smile. ] So, an extraterrestrial, huh? That's really fascinating! I don't know how similar your powers are to the mages in my dimension, but I've spent my whole life researching magic. If I can be of any help figuring out what you can do, you're more than welcome to ask me.
[ He can't help the sad puppy eyes, they come naturally to him! ]
You didn't exactly catch me at my best. [ More like his worst...though given how his life is going, that bar might be even lower now. ] And - hang on, what has Cait been telling you? If it's embarrassing, she's totally lying.
[ Who wouldn't be excited at the prospect of research into the unknown?? Vi's definitely the weird one here, not him. Though granted, he'd probably have a different perspective too if he'd spent two years here, letting out a low whistle at that number. ]
That long? Have you been with Caitlyn the whole time? [ It matches more or less the number Caitlyn had told him too, and the two of them had seemed on good terms last time he bothered poking his head out of the lab. He might not know Vi that well, but he's pretty sure just from their first meeting that she wouldn't have joined the enforcers otherwise. ] You've been looking out for her, right?
Jayce Talis, the pleasure's all mine. And I don't know, there's worse ways to meet than mired in toad excretion...they could have shoved us two to a coffin, for one.
[ He heaves a noticeable sigh of relief when he hears what's on the paper. Kissing a stranger is just so awkward, even if only on the hand, and he's not a fan of fighting unless it's over academia, but talking? That he can do. ]
Oh, I know this one! I figured it out through, uh, repeated testing. [ In other words, he's gotten his ass stuck way too often trying to catch these damn toads. ] We just have to exchange some sort of confession. Don't worry, I'm pretty good at keeping secrets.
[ Oh, he's really steaming now. Who the hell just dumps a kid somewhere they could get eaten by bears? (Or at least he's pretty sure that's what lives in woods.) ]
Locals? You mean they do this to people from out of town, or...? [ Or other dimensions? ]
[There's always something going on, around here. Yusuke hadn't even been paying attention to the stupid toads, which was evidently a mistake; he's minding his own business when he happens to accidentally wander under a sprig of mistletoe, and suddenly something is sprayed at his feet.]
Hey! You little punk, get back here--
[Is it mature to attempt to give chase? Absolutely not, but that was fully Yusuke's intent when he discovers his feet are, in fact, stuck.
To add insult to injury, it does come back, but only to spit a piece of paper at his head.]
Talk to who?!
[it does not answer. it only starts to hop away again. Yusuke, straining against the sticky substance like a poorly trained dog having reached the end of its chain, yells after it:]
Yeah, you better run! I'll make sashimi outta your ass, don't think I won't!
[Yosuke leans forward to kiss Scott a moment later. it's not really an intense one, given the situation, almost more like a swift kiss more than anything else.
Its not the locals that do this, i-its...the council or whatever. Some ruling power none of us have ever managed to see or talk to. They bring us here.
