[He watched Richard dress back up and fasten on weapons, and he expected to be walking the first few blocks until he could go no further. He was of the opinion that he could force the issue with his leg and make it to a safe house by walking, but it had been some time since he had suffered from an injury to this extent. He remained obstinate enough to value the limited physical strength that he had.

So, he limped a few steps to test the leg and the pain as Richard debated weaponry, and the sharp bite of pain was like a buzzing in the back of his brain. Perhaps a supportive crutch would do, yet he was distracted by the idea when Richard came close to him again. He raised his eyebrow.]


I thought we established that I could walk on the leg for some distance.

[He looked to the abandoned sword and frowned that his lover would choose to leave a weapon behind. He knew those were important to Richard after all. He certainly wasn't about to use a sword, though he could carry one.]

You aren't leaving that behind. Give it to me. I can carry it.
