I don't know. I figure the Council, or whoever's behind this, are like gods, right? Something on that power scale way above us. I met a god once. He wanted us to kill each other for his own amusement. This is less bloody, but it still has us stuck here while weird shit happens. Maybe they just get off on watching just try to figure things out.
