Perhaps they will. That is the power of choice and competition.

[While his words might seem like he was for competition and was perfectly fine with people spending their money in other places, he in fact simply rigged the system to make it so that it didn't matter where they went. He would own what they needed because he would own a full corner of the market, just not let everyone know about it.

He wasn't so stupid as to think that the illusion of choice was important though. People had to feel a sense of control even in a rigged game.]
There are always ways to profit. You target basic needs or have something so unique it appeals to a broad market. There are other tactics like item envy too.

[So perhaps as a sign of good will, he will let slip some of his tactics. The simple ones that are easily replicated in other places.]
