And it's a little nostalgic? Not that she's known Marianne for all that long, she doesn't even know her name, but there's an instinctual knee-jerk need to prop up Marianne's self esteem and all of this is terrible, but Guinaifen doesn't know that yet. She just (thinks) she knows what she needs to do.]

Ballroom dance? [Easy enough to sound impressed when it is a cool skill. All skills are worth knowing, or something.]

You're doing really good for somebody who's new to this! When I was first being taught how to dance, I tripped over my feet all the time, and a guy got so mad at how bad I was he tried to fight me. He called me an embarrassment to my teacher. That my dancing was that bad.

[She says it easily, though, like it's a funny story because it's a funny story which may or may not have happened, laugh.] A friend of mine bailed me out before it got too bad, but I ended up with remedial dance lessons because of it- anyway, we all start somewhere and you're doing a lot better than I did! [She's also dancing even as she talks because of course she is, because it's not a big deal and may or may not have happened.]
