Yeah...I guess you're right. We both had to grow up sometime.
[She wasn't wrong there; Ekko had learned a thing or two about how to survive given how long he'd been on his own before deciding it was time to stand up for himself and make real change happen within their home. The creation of the Firelights was only the first stepping stone but as more and more people joined his cause the boy savior became increasingly confident in himself. Far more self reliant than before even though he was kind of used to being a bit of a lone wolf despite his ragtag friends of the Undercity that were basically like family to him.
It was a necessary change for the better as he strived to bring an end to the corruption which plagued the whole of Zaun, Silco's influence infectious as he poisoned their people's willpower with Shimmer or lined their pockets making them complacent allies to his cause. Enough was enough, someone had to do something about it and he was tired of waiting around for anyone else to do it so he took upon the grueling task for himself. Noble as it may be it was not without its hardships, Ekko having lost people close to him all in the name of justice but peace was not easily attainable with unfortunate sacrifices usually met in the face of adversity.
Her last sentiment causes him to perk up a bit as he tries not to dwell on thinking about home with all the people who looked to him for guidance, a flash of an amused grin forming over his lips followed along with a hushed bit of laughter under his breath and a nod of his head in agreement.]
You know I've barely had time to breath let alone even think about something like that, Vi.
[A beat as the grin splayed over his features grows a bit wider as he teases the other playfully again.]
