[Jinx had always had her issues with Caitlyn, and that was fine. They were destined to be mortal enemies, what with one of them being a baker and the other being a health inspector. Caitlyn took her job very seriously, so even after her and Vi started dating, she wasn't going to let little infractions slide. She had her morals, and wasn't going to let her out of work relationships affect how she did her job. They got off on the wrong foot and it never really got better.
But that was okay. She kept her distance, did her best to keep the peace, and as long as things were okay between Vi and her sister, it was fine.
Or it was fine. Until things in town started to get weird. It was always hard to explain what exactly was wrong, though. Misplacing things when she knew exactly where she left them.
But the kicker?
The strange memories that flooded her mind. Memories she knew made no sense, memories of a life she didn't live. The first was a rifle-- she knew how to shoot, of course, she was trying to get into the police academy, but it was a rifle unlike any she had seen before. The second she touched it, she was flooded with images of herself, using the rifle to stop a woman attacking Vi. Before she could even comprehend it all, the rifle was gone and the day continued.
The second maybe confused her more. A gold and green butterfly-like creation was on her desk. The face on it was unnerving in itself to look at, but the longer she stared at the strange object, the more her stomach twisted. She finally picked it up, with the intention of tossing it out of her sight, but the second her fingers touched the object, images of bright, blinding lights surrounded her. Guns drawn, pointed in her face. Explosions, everywhere. And then she saw Jinx-- she somehow knew it was her, even with how different she looked-- stalking towards her, the anger on her face once she spotted Caitlyn, the large gun in her hands before she pointed and shot at her---
Needless to say, she got far, far away from the gold mechanism. Ignored it, every time it appeared again. But she couldn't get the images out of her head. They felt so real, but that wasn't her life. The things she had been seeing never happened to her. What was going on?
Always one to find answers, Caitlyn finally decided to make her way to the source: Jinx herself. It wasn't often that she visited the bakery, out of respect for peace between them, but she needed to see her. Needed to put her mind to rest, one way or another.
So here she was, stepping into line. It was late morning, so the worst of the rush was done and gone, which was her intention. She wanted to talk to Jinx, so she needed to be able to get her away from the counter, even if just briefly.]
