( so there's a lot to unpack here in a span of a couple of minutes. for one when he calls out her little explanation cheesy, her heart tanked a bit and so does her expression. and she can feel "mylo" and a gang of her voices piling up at the nape of her neck -- ready to tease and poke fun. but that quickly disappears at a blink of an eye when it switches to a compliment. and the more quentin speaks, the more her eyes grow doe-like.
two, was she asking him out? poss...ibly. jinx definitely likes him and she wants to do more with him than the typical friendship thing she's been doing with everyone else. she finds a few people cute, but quentin fits more of her style and besides, they went into each other's heads when they first met, so he's seen half of her bad side already, and yet he stuck around. and from that, they develop this little connection that only the two of them share. sure, there's still so much he doesn't know regarding her. like her past, her families and what have become of them, how she became jinx in the first place, and who caused the war between the two cities. would he still like her or want to be around her if he knew all the destruction and death she caused? what about now and the future? jinx's been causing mayhem here in aldrip already, and that led her to her sentencing and needing to fulfill this task that the council wish for her to accomplished (or something worse may happen). and she and her father are on a journey to rule this village if not all of them to be their kingdom. would... he be okay with that? would he be fine with her possibly need to harm or kill if it means to gain her father's goal?

maybe that's something she should consider, something she should bring up or talk about, but instead all of those thoughts get abandoned. her voices get left behind too as she takes a cautious step forward. 'he is going to leave you'. one says. 'he's going to hurt and betray you like everyone else. he's no different'. another chimes in. but their warnings aren't reaching her and she forgets they're in the kitchen or there's even a party going on with others just in another room. for jinx, it's just the two of them and the realization that someone likes her. her. not her sister who she had always thought was more superior in everything. although they are older now, she still feels the less attractive and less desirable one. but this... this just shows someone can like a monster like her. ... right? )
