[When word of the festivities surrounding the Day of Devotion reaches Saito, his first reaction is to stay the hell away from it. Not only it reeks of a cheesy and old-fashioned nickname for Valentine's Day, festivities also equal hoards of people on the streets — and what good is a group of people for when he can't murder them? Although, the opportunity to get his target a (cheap but) heartfelt gift, for a chance to help mend her trust in him was too good to pass up.

It was with that objective in mind that he found himself checking out the goods crafted by an old couple of merchant artisans, which consisted of collections of their best scarves and pieces of jewelry, many of which fit each other well aesthetically due to their joint production. Upon explaining he was looking for a gift for an eighteen-year-old girl, the old woman quickly took over, navigating him through a bunch of the finest jewelry in Aldrip, many of which crafted by her husband. Not bothered with actually wasting time picking, he added that the girl liked rabbits, and that any rabbit-themed jewelry would likely please her.

At this, the old woman beamed ecstatically, seemingly jumping to conclusions. "My", he heard her exclaim, "if that's the case, I have the perfect gift for your girlfriend!"

Saito merely went along with that misunderstanding: the old lady was hellbent on finding the perfect gift for this "cute young couple". There was no reason to ruin her delusional excitement, as it was advantageous for him as well. Ultimately, what she offered him was a rabbit-shaped scarf that not only seemed to be exactly the kind of cutesy accessory he would find in stores (online or otherwise) all across Japan, but also its rabbit-shaped charm counterpart. Both at a very generous price, no less (nearly at a two for the price of one ratio, proving that going along with the misunderstanding paid off). Perhaps that coincidence added to the fact that both accessories were the same color as Adorabbit meant that the rabbit's curse over Mizuki had only mysteriously gotten stronger since she came to this world.

Now with the right tools in hand, he contacts her through the golden charm, and arranges to meet in a nearby, quiet square, away from the hustle and bustle of the ongoing celebration... and the hoards (and eyes) of people.
