[Ethlyn actually draws back slightly, Dohalim's statement is that shocking. She has never heard a member of the ruling class say something like that--no. No, that's not quite true, she recalls. Lewyn, prince of Silesse, had gone to great lengths to hide himself... even so, he wasn't able to escape from his eventual homecoming and reckoning. Ethlyn had left her brother's army before that burst into open conflict, but she had heard the outcome from Leonster: Lewyn had defeated his traitorous uncles and claimed his birthright.

She's about to start in on this story when some part of her catches up. Lewyn was afraid of failing. Dohalim is talking about a failure he has already committed. And by the sound of it, a grave one.]
